Neither one of you have a shot at the Co-Commissioner's Cup. I think Sin City has a legit shot at making a run at Cali's 39 win season... especially if they trade Lumar.

The race between 'Rock and Roll' and 'Old Blue' continues to rage game for game. They started the season just 4 Saves apart and sitting #1/#2 on the All-Time list. They've each registered 21 on the season and seem to go on cold streaks and hot streaks at the same time.

With their 5 year age difference, it's inevitable that Simmonds will eventually be the Saves King, but Cabezas is holding onto that bad boy for as long as possible.

The utilities make tracking stuff like that a lot of fun.

              Philadelphia Freedom (52 - 33, 1st)

Just a three game series at Windy City this week due to the All-Star break. Overall a really successful week. Just like last year we've played a disproportionate amount of home games in the first half which we'll have to pay for in the second half. Picking up a series victory in any road series will be important to us from here on out.

              2-1 @ Windy City

Gm 1: Joe Aurillo picked up in July where he left on in June (minus his brief All-Star appearance). He cruised through 7 innings while allowing only 1 run (0 ER), 0 BB while striking out 6. Cristian Correa got roughed up a bit in 1.1 innings (3 ER) and the defense was really shaky (4 errors), but the offense managed to produce enough and Joe Alveraz settled things down in the 9th to pick up his 23rd SV.
              PHI 6 CHI 4

Gm 2: This one got away from Tim Nathan in the 8th as he allowed 3 ER in that inning after allowing 2 ER through the first 7. Geoff Scott had 3 hits in 4 trips and 1 RBI, but that was the only run we managed. Young Pat Yates picked up his 10th victory at our expense.
              PHI 1 CHI 5

Gm 3: Joe Arredondo was sharp coming out of the break and pushed his record to 7-6 with an 8.0 IP | 2 H | 1 ER | 1 BB | 5 K effort to pick up the victory. The Playboys had 3 hits in the game. OT and Juan Coera had 3 hits apiece. OT and Joe Seagarra drove in 2 runs and Dave Ibison drove in 3.
              PHI 9 CHI 1

              Good:

              -OT put up a line of .556 | .556 | 1.111 with 1 HR and 2 doubles
              -Geoff Scott posted a .429 | .500 | .714 with a HR and a double
-The Joe's pitched the way we need them to pitch in series like this to pick up the 2 victories

              Not as Good:

-not too much went wrong in such a short week. Cristian Correa had his first rough outing in quite a while, but it didn't cost us the game so it wasn't too bad

Wow this Lager division race is tight. I just can't create any meaningful separation from Los Lunas unlike last year.

Yep...Got the smoke & mirrors workin' again in Los Lunas. Hopefully we can somehow fool ourselves into the playoffs.

I'm just saying the worst I can do is tie

not to mention I am no longer a lock for the co-commish cup now that 3 other teams have joined me in ineptitude.

Good point... though... as a team use to picking in the Top 5... if I'm up there anyway... might as well be #1.

Yeah, anything out of the top 3 seems like a slap in the face after this season.

EDIT: Not that I am proud of that.
