Really??? How so??? I see very similar numbers for 3 guys, one of whom has played in 25% less games. To me that says he is having the best statistical season of the three.

Secondly, the All-Star game is about individual achievement. The playoffs is about what teams are playing the best.

Guys from Mississippi that deserve a shot:

OF- Sammarano and Latham. #1 and #2 in HR in the OF, both have solid OBP and are really driving my offense.

SP- Gervasio Areas is dealing. Don Leonard is averaging more than 1 strikeout an inning with a WHIP of around 1.10. Manny Puerias is also putting together a great season.

RP- Eric McCoy has been close to automatic out of the pen.

Again. I'm saying that O'Hegarty is having a great season. If he had not got hurt, he would run away with it. But we are awarding the players who are having the best seasons in the IL, not the players who WOULD have had the best season had they not got hurt.

Tell that to the 2001 Mariners.

        Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

Well, that may be how you look at the All-Star game, but I think other Owners take a little more care in breaking it down.

However, I guess if you're just blindly going to go on blanket stats you can just look at the VORP which should clearly show that Scott and Grounds are in a tight race and O'Hegarty isn't even close.

          Oh wait....

If you blindly went on that stat you'd see Scott.... by quite a bit.... then O'Hegarty... then Grounds bringing up the rear.

Well, that doesn't make sense cause you just said that those two were clearly having the better season.

          Boy... voting is hard.

VORP doesn't include defense, which let me remind you, O'Hegarty has the worst fielding percentage, range, and more errors than Grounds despite playing 200 less innings.

            You're right Clay...voting is hard.

Not to derail Mom and Dads argument, but here are the Clowns I believe should get All Star consideration:

SP Mac Avery- 10-2 (leads DL in W's), 99 IP, 85 Hits Allowed, 2 SHO (Tied for DL lead), 6th in the DL in VORP, and a hell of a model citizen.

SP Akira Abe- 7 wins, 6th in DL in VORP, 3rd in HR/9, 7th in WHIP, 7th in R/9.

C Pete Miller- .315/.374/.516, 2nd in DL C's in Avg, 5th in OBP, 3rd in SLG, 5th in RC/27, 4th in VORP, Top 5 in most offensive categories for DL Cathers.

3B Elton Jessie- 3rd in DL in HR's, 2nd in RBI, 5th in Total Bases, Top 5 in most offensive categories for DL Third Basemen.

OF Rex Knight- 10th in DL in OPS, leads DL Centerfielders in: AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, Doubles, Total Bases, Extra Base Hits, 2nd in: RC/27, VORP, Runs, 3rd in: Homers and Hits.

The Indianapolis Clowns organization thanks you for your consideration of these players for this years All Star Game.

Ok, so I voted and afterwards it showed me who I voted for. Then I went to 'view results' and it said I had to vote before I could view the results.

                Weird?

You need to click "Submit" on that final screen where it shows who you voted for.

After doing that, is there a way to see your votes?

Sometimes I go through these lengthy mental battles between two players and finally choose one and later on I don't remember which guy I eventually chose.

Voted again, for real this time.

Still early, but here are some things that stood out to me after seeing the voting results thus far:

                        - I though Gremades would run away with the vote for DL 1B, but I was wrong thus far.

                        - Although I pimped him, I'm surprised to see Jessie get a vote among for DL 3B. Some real good players there.

                        - I rarely ever make a fuss over my players getting slighted for whatever reason, but I really thought Rex Knight would be a unanimous vote for DL OF'er.

                        - I didn't vote for him, but its nice to see Curt Johnston get some recognition.

It'll be really interesting to see how the voting turns out. Some real nice competitions going here.

I feel like I voted for Johnston. If it wasn't me, then he was definitely the sixth guy and I chose someone over him. I know my reasoning was his innings thrown without starting a game and overall good numbers. I think middle relievers need some love.

I'm surprised Miguel Alonzo has three votes and Sierra has two. Didn't expect that.

I agree. Saves are a stat of circumstance anyway, for the most part.

Yeah, as far as MRs go, I usually look for the top 2-3 closers. Then I look at overall total IP for relievers and who has the best stats and pick 2-3 from that group.
