    Next sim: Sunday (9pm ET)

A lot of the stud hitters off to really slow starts in A ball; on the other hand, the top pitchers are all looking good for the most part.

    Syracuse Slammers - BLB

Ouch, rough sim for the Storm. Swept by Denver, 1/3 against Maine.

        5-1

        vs. Los Alamos 2-1
        vs. Carolina 3-0

So we pick on the two worst teams in the Bock and come out with our best week of the year. Apparently the guys didn't get the memo that we are the worst team in the league.

        Good

        - A ton of little green +1's in our player development report for the minors. We're not sure if that's good or not, if they mean anything, or if it's just false hope...but we like green, not red.
        - Another great week of pitching. SP Coronda and SP Stephens continue their outstanding seasons.
        - C Pat May continues to play well, hitting .312/.476/.688 on the week. He also hit his 1st career BLB home run.

        Bad

        - We strike out way too much. This week it was 45-13 K to BB.

        EDIT...

        Forgot a good.

1B Raul de Jesus (Wrong uniform)

Always a bad with the good.

          6-0 sim. Tied for 1st.

7 pitchers in Top 100. Greene jumps Brinklow as each moves up in the rankings.

However, Brinklow suffered a UCL injury that'll require Tommy John Surgery in his first minor league start. Gone for 9 months. Oh well.

Both Fitzgerald and Byrd threw complete games in their debuts, without allowing an earned run ... and took the losses. Welcome to Pittsburgh.

Pagan's off to a great start in single A. Sanchez is pitching well at the BLB level, yet is only 1-3.

                4-2

                The Good:

We took 2/3 from Maine, which is always a good sign. Here in Indy we gage success against the Ballclub from Maine.

Rex Knight continues his fancy ways at the plate after starting June in the shitter. Really hope the power comes for this guy.

Elton Jessie. This guy has been a total surprise this year. He's always hit for power, but after a ratings jump from OOTP9-X, he's starting to hit for some average as well. He'll never get on base at a huge clip, but if he keeps up this pace I'll be happy.

Ruben Sanchez continues to play well, racking up 10 RBI for the sim.

Anier Tafur is starting to come around a bit. After struggling to get his BA to .200 the first two months, he's hitting north of .330 for June, and his OPS is more than .300 points higher. Keep it up, fella.

Called up our top catching prospect, Raul Valencia, for this sim to cover for the suspended and suddenly touchy Pete Miller, and he did really well. 3 HR/6RBI was a surprise, and could lead to an extended audition in the DH spot.

Mac Avery continues his hot start, going 9 innings and allowing only 1 run. He's now 10-2 on the season.

Gauina and Neilly both with good starts this sim, Gauina taking a tough no decision and Neilly picking up 2 wins along the way.

                The Bad:

Not a lot to complain about with as far as the offense goes. We posted an .844 OPS as a team, without Miller. I'll take this kind of production every sim.

Abe was real shitty in his lone start of the sim, giving up 6 runs in 3 1/3 innings. Not the way to go, but I'm not too concerned. He's had only two starts this season in which he's given up more than 3 runs, and this was the worst.

                The Clay:

We called hopefull stud Ivan Garcia up as well this sim to help cover injuries/suspensions and he goes out and get suspended himself. Not exactly what we were looking for, ass.

                  Washington Bats (45-25)
                  2-1 @ Davenport
                  2-1 @ Philly
I'm surprised I took both series...had low expectations for the week.

                  The Good
-Dave Robbins was the hitter of the week. (9/22, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 4 BB) Raises his season numbers to .264 avg, .794 OPS, 10 HR, 53 RBI, 36 R. Last year he hit just .211.
-Martin Carlton pitched another gem. He only pitches 5-7 innings a start, but the guy is quickly becoming one of the best starters in the game.

                  The Bad
-Eddie O'Fallon has a sprained thumb and will miss two weeks.

                  The Disabled
-SP Cristofor Villazon returns from the DL this sim. He has turned down every contract extension offer since Spring Training. He is going to break the bank.

Simple math now tells me that we're not only better than Washington, but Davenport and Philly as well.

Where did our Call-Up thread go?

It might be time for Jesus to make his BLB debut.
