  • What was the latest on expansion?

Were we going to try to get through our first season of OOTP 2007 with a solid group of unchanged owners before we look into it?

Just curious because I know there are a few guys who have expressed some interest back at OS (Spear, Rainey, etc.), and there are some former owners who could still be interested if they have the time. Also, I know people at the OOTP boards and in the OSFL league have expressed interest.

Whats the ideal we are looking for, another four owners? What would we do then, just add one owner to each division, have an expansion draft, and then have two wildcards spots for each league? Or would we split it into three divisions per conference, with four teams in each, and just take division winners for the playoff spots and one WC?

I know we are a long ways away, but it is still fun to speculate.

I'd like to expand eventually, but we'd need at least a season with 2007 and stable ownership to consider doing so. I'd like to add 1 team to each division and add 2 wildcards to each league.

The thing is, we can't just take any four people to run an expansion team. We'd need people who are up for the challenges of building a team from the ground up.

      Questions about expansion:

      - When we think we are a season away from expansion, can we add independenet Minor League teams to be controlled by the AI that will eventually be there to be affiliated with the expansion teams? Is that possible?

      - Do we have an actual waiting list of people interested in joining? If so, I think we should strongly encourage them to become regular visitors to the forums now. The more you learn about these teams, the better. That will help them get a feel for the teams, GMs, players, systems, etc.

I think that's all I have right now. But, I am definately looking forward to a bright future with this game.

        Just a question...

Has anyone been in a league that expanded?

How would we deal with the expansion draft? And would those two coin flip for the #1 and #2 picks?
