  • SIM COMPLETE - 1988 - FA6

    Next sim: Sunday 9 pm

I f'd up the schedule a little bit in terms of DFA. We still have a few days before the start of Spring Training but there were too many players with DFA time about to expire to sim the whole way. I want to make sure we keep up with the schedule so I'm going to modify it a little bit for the next few sims. The upcoming schedule will be:

Sunday 11/22 (9pm): Will sim to the start of ST (~5 days)

Monday 11/23 (9pm): Will sim the first half of spring training (~15 days)

Wednesday 11/25 (9pm): Will sim the second half of spring training (~15 days)

Monday 11/30 (9pm): regular season starts (7 days) AND the draft will begin.

Let me know if there are any questions.

Pretty much. I think next year we'll make the FA sims 11 days so they take us exactly to the start of ST.

I'm going to author a proposal for the next owner's meeting where we go with less FA sims that are longer in length. I was thinking instead of 6 - 10 days sims, I'd like to investigate the option of 4 - 15 day or 3 - 20 day sims. I think it would force teams to make their best offers early on.

I'd be on board with shortening the off-season. Next year I want to really work on tightening things up so we don't have any wasted sims during the off-season.

Can we update the Draft utility to reflect traded picks or is that a commish job?

These have to be the best back-to-back posts ever issued during my time here. Admittedly the bar keeps itself pretty low, but I like what you've done here.

I would be on board with shortening the BLB seasons in some way. The WLB has proved to me that I enjoy the history and the GM aspects of our leagues the most. So any way we can speed up getting more history and have our draftees move through our organizations faster would make it more enjoyable for me.

I know we have had some extra issues this off season... but the BLB moves through its in game years at a snails pace compared to the other leagues we have here at SGN. Not sure if I would want the regular season to be sped up, I like how it flows now, but we could probably speed up the off-season some.

I think the pace of the season is fine. I wouldn't object to adding a Sunday evening sim, on top of the MWF current schedule, but I think we are good where we are.

No... the regular season, I think, is perfect. I think the off-season could use maybe 3 or 4 sims cut out of it. I think it would make a world of difference. Plus, the bottomline is, when we don't have to take breaks for game changes or issues, it goes pretty quick... we're just not use to that.

(For the record, I think the NCFA has the slowest off-season... zzzzzzz...)

It wasn't shot at the league... I just think the off-season feels the slowest because MOST teams don't change staff every season so the whole first chunk is just a snooze.

Wow... a lot of teams cut a bunch of guarenteed personnel contracts. Lots of RED on those financial reports this season. Maybe I'm crazy, but the expaned Coaching Pool means more good people to get when contracts expire. Seems wasteful to spend $6,000,000 cutting staff.

It means nothing for me. I can't afford to pay my minor league coaches 800k+ a year.
