Can I still decline mutual options now? I can't offer any current guys any deals more than a year because of the mutual options that I want to decline.

1988 options? No you need to decline them during the first few sims of the off-season. If they are not declined before either the arbitration sim or free agency sim (can't remember which) the option is automatically exercised.

Brit Bovey to California for peanuts. That's either the best bargain signing ever or his real ability is in the crapper.

I'm gonna go with the latter.

I like what Pittsburgh is doing so far. Short cheap contracts on high upside guys. Lot of former Colonials (Blue, Franklin, Greenham) heading to Pittsburgh.

Players just want to play for a winner.

To be honest, my scout still loves his ratings. I guess I'll find out soon enough if I got a 4th OF, or a true starter.

My scout likes him too, so you've got that going for ya!

I also wanted Bovey but I guess my offer wasn't quite good enough. Based on his demands I felt he was one of the better bargains out there. I got Rogers back to solidify my bullpen. Not a big move but at a much cheaper price than his option was for so I am happy about that.
