OOTP X and Vista

Just curious if anyone else had problems getting started...I downloaded OOTP X. Tried to run as admin, won't let me. Changed my DEP settings, won't let me.

I've been trying different things from the OOTP forums and nothing works.

I have Vista and everything installed fine. That doesn't help you, but it works for me.

Would someone with Vista, give me a walk through on exactly how they got OOTP X to work? This is starting to get really frustrating.

I would post a thread in the OOTP forums.

Are you getting an error message?

I don't have Vista so can't help troubleshoot very much.

I don't get an error message.

I set it to run as Admnistator and after double clicking, it shows that it's loading and then nothing happens. It just stops and doesn't open.

A few people on the OOTP forums have reported no issues running with Windows 7.

I don't have Vista, but support it sometimes. I don't have any ideas except maybe disable UAC? Then reboot and try it again.

I disabled...and modified my DEP settings...but that didn't work. I can try UAC when I get home this evening....

It's frustrating that they can't get a game to work easily on Vista...as much as it could be Vista's problem, how can they not make it easily compatable? Do they NOT want me to purchase their game every few months?!

I'm running Vista 64-bit. I didn't have any issues installing OOTP and it started up fine the first time. I don't remember doing anything different to get it working. Only thing I've done is allow OOTP through the firewall.
