For the 2nd straight year, Dallas Closer Adrian Diaz has pitched his way into the DL Last Call Relief award. Despite not matching his 1986 numbers and a heartbreaking failed run at the playoffs for the Snappers, the 24 year old fireballer with the devastating splitter continues to post outstanding numbers early in his pro career.

Former BLB Closer Graciano Salcedo told us in a recent interview, "(Diaz) has A+ stuff and can just come at you pitch after pitch. He is the first truly great Closer developed completely in the new BLB. We have some greats, but this kid was still in college 2 years ago."

Grabbing three 1st place votes and finishing 2nd in the voting was Maine's new Closer Hernando Ortiz. It's a testament to the Guide's organization and scouting department when they once again take a mildly successful mid-level player and turn them into a contender. Ortiz, who was an above average middle reliever and set-up man in the Baltimore organization, lead the DL with 42 saves in 45 save opportunities.

Just a vote behind, the 3rd place vote-getter was veteren Clown's reliever Jose Nunez. Nunez joined Indy after starting his career with the Wilmington Wildcats, where he toiled for 7 seasons in various bullpen roles. With the DL Champion Clowns, Nunez appeared in 61 games, notched 16 holds and posted an impressive 1.77 ERA.

The only other 1st place vote went to the BLB's All-Time Saves Leader - Cashmiro 'Rock and Roll' Cabezas.
    The Great One!
