Despite breaking multiple records during the regular season and falling just short of hitting the historic .400 mark, Pawtucket Center Fielder Adam Nickell could not bring home the end of the season hardware. Nickell, who set the new BLB record by hitting in 35 consecutive games, received 5 first place votes but could not do enough to steal the gold from Indianapolis' Pete Miller.
Pete Miller, the 25 year old Catcher who 6 years ago was given his outright release by Hartford, put together a season where he finished in the Top 8 in 14 different offensive categories including finishing 1st in the DL in 6 different stats including OBP and SLG. Miller was the sparkplug to a Clowns team that is challenging for the franchise's first Brewmaster's Cup.
Jose Guzman of Dallas was the only other player to receive 1st place votes (4) and finished a close 3rd to Nickell. The 30 year old Guzman is one of the most consistant hitters in the BLB and continues to put up textbook All-Star statistics.
