    1st Place - Pete Miller (56) - IND
    2nd Place - Adam Nickell (35) - PAW
    3rd Place - Jose Guzman (33) - DAL

    Others Receiving Votes:

    - Gil Melgoza - DAL
    - Dane Browning - DEN
    - Tom Tilbrook - MAI

    ***

Despite breaking multiple records during the regular season and falling just short of hitting the historic .400 mark, Pawtucket Center Fielder Adam Nickell could not bring home the end of the season hardware. Nickell, who set the new BLB record by hitting in 35 consecutive games, received 5 first place votes but could not do enough to steal the gold from Indianapolis' Pete Miller.

Pete Miller, the 25 year old Catcher who 6 years ago was given his outright release by Hartford, put together a season where he finished in the Top 8 in 14 different offensive categories including finishing 1st in the DL in 6 different stats including OBP and SLG. Miller was the sparkplug to a Clowns team that is challenging for the franchise's first Brewmaster's Cup.

Jose Guzman of Dallas was the only other player to receive 1st place votes (4) and finished a close 3rd to Nickell. The 30 year old Guzman is one of the most consistant hitters in the BLB and continues to put up textbook All-Star statistics.

Not too bad. Miller deserved it.

I had trouble deciding between Nickell and Guzman at 2 and 3 and ultimately decided that Guzman's overall numbers impressed me more.

I think I voted Nickell first but Miller was certainly worthy of the award.

No. He was a nobody when you released him.

Shortly after he signed with Indy he took TWO magic talent bumps that the old game used to hand out.

Pretty much pure luck... but he sure turned out nice for Indy!

This is all true. I'm pretty sure he got his first talent bump like two weeks after I signed him. I think he was 4's across the board, then was bumbed up to 5's in most categories. But I'll take it.

                    Thanks for the Miller votes!
