Virginia Colonials (67-69)
2-0 @ Morgantown (3-0 series)
1-3 @ Washington
What Went Right:
- Joe Arrendondo quietly notched his 14th win of the season - good for 2nd in the IL.
- Nate 'The Skull' Magness threw his 4th CG SO of the season and 2nd in a row. He's now gone 27.1 innings without giving up a run.
- Jerry Morgan made his BLB Debut and pitched well enough to win. Went 6.1 - 6 hits - 1 Earned - K'd 7 and walked 3. On line for the win until the 9th fell apart on 'Old Blue' and he actually balked in the tieing run.
- Tom Zimmerman is a bad man. This guy should be playing in the Bock right now and helping one of those teams pull away. Hit .419 over the last 7 days with a couple more bombs. Sitting at a 23.1 VORP for 2B's in the BLB while only playing in 50 games.
What Went Wrong:
- Alberto Hernando had a really nice season ended with an abdominal injury. He actually homered in the 1st inning of the game, then got hurt legging out a bases-loaded triple in the very next inning. The one bright spot for the week is that Journeyman Tynan McMurty hit .533 in a replacement role.
- Joshua Poling has been absent for weeks now. The guy has not been right since his shoulder injury in June. Management fears the worst.
- Jeff Franklin has now lost 5 starts in a row despite not pitching terrible.
Overall:
I feel pretty good with this SIM. My team is young and I showed that I can at least play with the Bats. We're 7-8 head-to-head this season and I feel like, while he also has a lot of young pieces, I have an overall younger corp. Pushing towards that 82 win goal seems more doable.
What's Next:
7 straight at home with Morgantown, Wilmington and Cali. We'd just like to get and stay healthy and push towards 82. We've already done enough to stay under the luxury tax and expand next year's budget. Would have liked to do more this season, but I feel like we're doing something good here. The Great One!

We finish the season with 3 games at Ol' Miss. I need to pick up 3 games in the next 3 weeks in order to have a chance at forcing a one-game playoff.
I know better than to put this in writing, but I just can't keep it in...Donato Guardamagni is a gargantuan, stud, super hero. I want to have his children.
