I set it to clear the lineups after each day and the pitching was set to start the highest rested starter so I thought that Brudenell would get the start in Chicago. Well the AI started a MR and I was in a big hole by the end of the 4th inning.

I guess I should have sided with riverman on this one, eh? Stupid 7-day lineups...

You probably should have asked Clay to turn them off after 7 days were simmed. The only good reason to have 7-day lineups on but not filled out is if you are going for a better draft pick.

Andrew will be back this weekend and will be home for like week before going on vacation again. He's going to drive to fix the issue that doesn't allow me to post HTML.

          California Kodiaks (75-55)

          2-1 vs. Windy City
          2-1 vs. Morgantown
          0-1 @ Philadelphia

          The Good
          - Conan Wilkerson had a great start. 6 1/3 IP, 10 K's, 0 R. 1-0 for the week.

          - Franois Dupuis finally had a semi normal week again. Feels like this was the first sim the big man has had an extra base hit in months.

          - Romn Magueu. Magueu picked up his 40th save this past sim. He's a bit like Bob Wickman in that if he's got a three run lead he'll likely give up two runs and load the bases before getting that last out but he's got the job done this season.

          The Bad
          - The bullpen. They blew two saves (Wayne Smith, Julin Rodrguez) and cost Joe Toapanta his win that would have kept him tied for the league lead.

          - Joe Lopez, 0-2, 6.00 ERA, 1.42 WHIP.

          The Kids
          - Not much going on in terms of calling up players. I did add Malek Garane, who will most likely be my starting catcher next year (if only for a year) because Harry Elliot is out of my price range. I also added Tony Palencia and Tim Monk to the September call ups. Neither will see more than spot duty... but I love giving the veterans call ups for their service in the minors. Monk, who's a AAA power house (34 HR's last year, 5 this year in about 15 games) will give Robby Shannon the elusive day off that he's been missing for quite some time.

          Next Week: 2 @ Philadelphia, 4 @ Batavia

            +2.

I didn't realize work was this boring.

Now I'm really amped to see how You-Suck Kang does with his 5th team in the last four years :)

All of these stopgaps in my rotation are having to serve as more than stopgaps LOL

6 - 1 sim. Let's see if I can find a reason to complain anyway...

                Why yes; yes I can.

Why is it that AI continues to ignore my #1 MR? Anybody have any ideas as to how I can coax AI into using this guy?

I'm paying "Meltdown" Gilbreath $3M and he's carrying a line of 2.12/1.20/.243; I'd like to see him on the mound once in a while.

My manager always likes to pick out a reliever that he likes and go with that guy first out of the pen unless he is completely exhausted. It doesn't matter where on the pitching chart I put the fellow or even if I include him there at all. The only way I have found to solve the problem of which you speak is to trade the manager's favorite in the hopes that he will then chose your favorite as his new favorite.

                    I've noticed this as well.

Making a guy your top reliever and top setup man will usually get him a load of innings.

I find the #2 spot on the reliever list gets the lion share of innings. I haven't tracked the set-up list though.

No science behind it, but I've found that non-save situations seem to use #2, #1, #4 and #3 in that order

Hmmm...What to do, what to do. I'm gonna' leave Meltdown in the #1 MR spot, but I'm also gonna' place him as #2 Setup and #2 Closer. Let's see if that gets him more innings. I'd prefer it if he were the first guy to get the call in the middle innings. I need to keep games close because my hitting is so anemic.
