Since June 21, Joe Orozco has gone 7-0 with a 1.49 ERA. In that time he has thrown 2 shutouts and 3 complete games.

Hartford and Maine tore through the Bock race. The only good thing about going 2-4 against them was that they held WC to a 1-5 week. One game back, but Carolina is slowly gaining on me as well. With the wildcard getting less likely I need a strong showing vs. Philly this sim.

I like the 8-day sim idea as well.

Here's the only issue with the 8-day SIM... I'm not 100% what if anything I have to do differently other than sim one extra day.

I think it's just that, plus change the league report output to 8 days instead of 7, but I'm not 100% sure.

          I'm willing to do whatever.

It might be simpler to just change the roster expansion date to 8/31.

I don't want to mess with the league settings. I think changing from 7to8 days is not a big deal, especially since the HTML isn't work now anyway.

I'll look in-game tonight and see if I can make sense of it. Probably not a major problem.

Ouch.... We hit .160 for the week... managed only 8 extra-base hits (7-2B & 1 HR). Pitiful week with the sticks. Had it not been for back-to-back good outings from Arrendondo and Magness, we would have gone "0-fer".

Pretty amazing pitching duel in that 2nd Game at Indy. Magness and Abe battle the whole way. Virginia gets 2 hits, Indy gets 3... Colonials scratch out the 1-0 win.

                      Philadelphia Freedom (69 - 54, 2.0 GB)

                      3-3 Overall

We dropped two games in the standings to California as they played the same two teams on the road that we did, but they managed to win 5 of their 6 games. We did however pick up 1 game in the WC standings and now have a 4 game lead over Los Alamos. We have 3 games at Los Alamos next week and so far we are only 2 -7 against them this year..

                      2-1@ Los Lunas

Gm 1 Joe Aurillo gave up 2 ERs in 6.0 IP, but in what has become a running theme, the offense provided him with almost no run support. The offense managed 3 hits and 1 run.
                      PHI 1 LOS 3

Gm 2 Ben Irvin had his best start since returning from a lengthy injury layoff (8.0 IP 7H 2ER 6K) and earned his 8th win. Joe Alveraz scuffled a bit in the 9th but picked up his 27th save. SS Geoff Scott hit his IL leading 9th triple.
                      PHI 4 LOS 3

Gm 3 Tim Nathan only went 6.1 IP, but he didn’t allow any runs while striking out 7. The bullpen went the final 2.2 without allowing any runs and only 1 H. Joe Alveraz pitched a perfect 9th to earn his 28th save. Jerry Fortin drove in both PHI runs on a Sac Fly and a double. That was all the offense we could muster, but it was enough.
                      PHI 2 LOS 0

                      1-2@ Hyundai

Gm 1 The offense managed 2 hits and no runs. MacOwl wasn’t good, but it didn’t really matter how many he gave up since the offense didn’t show up. Young Dinos lefty Jeremiah Wallace was mesmerizing (Game Score of 83) in improving his record to 9-5
                      PHI 0 HYU 8

Gm 2 Ray Minnoz cruised through the first 4 innings and then ran into trouble in the 5th. He allowed 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth with the biggest blow being a 3R homer by BLB legend Harry Keppel. We scraped together 3 runs in the top of the 8th to tie the game, but an error in the bottom half by Geoff Scott led to 2 unearned runs that were the difference.
                      PHI 5 HYU 7

Gm 3 The offense scored a total of 12 runs in the first 5 games of the sim. We scored 11 in the final game against Hyundai. Mel Woodbury went 3-5 3R 1RBI and his 29th homer of the year. Joe Aurillo started and was decent, but not outstanding, in earning his 8th win of the year.
                      PHI 11 HYU 3

                      Good:
Top 3 starters - Aurillo, Irvin and Nathan picked up the 3 wins we had this week.

                      Not as Good:
The offense - collectively hit .194/.282/.319 for the week and managed a total of 23 runs (11 in one game).

Still second in the league in wins, but can't quite shake Maine or even Indy for that matter. These 4-2 weeks would normally create some distance, but not in this world. However this SIM is better than any trade deadline could have been. Even though I lost Dallyn, I gain both 12 game winner Jeff Flynn, and 5 time All-Star Frank Donegan back from the DL. Hopefully can put some distance between us and Maine before call-ups.

                          Washington Bats (81-42)

                          3-0 @ Dallas / 2-1 @ Denver
The Washington Bats go on the road to face two of the DLs best and only lose one. In that loss, if the game had ended in the 8th inning, the Bats would have gone 6-0 this week. Can't complain about a 5-1 sim, on the road against contenders however.

                          The Good
-My starting pitching is phenominal. Even with Romano Gonzalez out for the season, I am still using the 6-man rotation with great effectiveness. McEvoy pitched 8.1 innings in his start. Cristofor Villazon pitched 8. As did Joe Zazueto. Joe Rodriguez went 8.1. Rookie Ryan Vest went 7. My bullpen pitched all of four innings.

-Infielder Brody Whiteley is making it hard not to get him in the lineup. Currently my defensive replacement at third, the veteran hit .318 this week, getting starts becaue of interleague play.

                          The Bad
-Nitpicking here...but despite going 5-1 and almost winning all six, my team hit one homerun. With Robbins down for the year, people need to step up!

                          The Ugly
-I'm 10 games up on the next highest IL contender, California. The ugly thing is, I still have to play out the rest of the season and will likely have an injury or two come playoff time.

                          Next Week
                          3 @ Batavia, 3 @ Carolina. I expect a bunch of low scoring affairs, probably a 4-2 or 3-3 sim.

I know Andrew was planning to alternate between 7 and 8 day sims at one point because in older versions of the game there was no option for a 14 day DL. He decided against it, I think, because of complications associated with an 8-day sim. Maybe the problem related to the HTML though. As you say, it doesn't seem like it should be a big deal.

                              California Kodiaks (71-52)

                              2-1 @ Hyundai
                              3-0 @ Los Lunas

                              The Good
                              - Harry Elliott. He hit 11/22 for a nice .500/.607/.545/1.152 line.

                              - Robby Shannon had a solid week going .360/.407/.680/1.087 with 2 HR/8 RBI's.

                              - Oswaldo Escarcaga. 2-0, 1.80 ERA, 15 IP, 12/3 K/BB, 0.93 WHIP.

                              The Bad
                              - Owen Gilbertson. The guy would be an ideal #2 hitter if he would just cut down on the strike outs... As is, I think he's up to 19 in his last two sims.

                              - Joe Lopez, 0-1, 7.94 ERA, 2.12 WHIP.

                              The Ugly
                              - It's near closing time on Conan Wilkerson's season. With the New Brew all but wrapped up, I'll be looking to cut Conan's starts to save him arm for the future. I know it's a risk that may cost me a playoff spot, but I've got to stick to the long term plan of having a healthy ace for years to come. I'd look for two or three starts max the rest of the way for 'Checkmate'.

Next Week: 3 vs. Windy City, 3 vs. Morgantown
                              California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

There is no issue between an 8-day and 7-day sim as long as you change the file upload to include 8 days of news, box scores, etc.

You can sim as few or as many days as you want and it's the same process.

The only other thing to look at is the DFA and how that may put some players over the limit. The thing you can do is manually go into any team that may come up with a DFA error and place them in the minors.

I would assume that if this sim is 8 days then the next would be 6 days to balance it out and get us back to Monday-Sunday.

If you need help at all Clay let me know.
