      Furry Pigs are 17 - 9 (.654) since the All-star game. But The Storm isn't (aren't) subsiding.

Matt, check out the line on your boy Reese, post-trade (2 appearances):
      2 - 0, 17.1 IP, 1.04 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, .194 OAVG

I hope you find yourself a stud with that 4th round pick!

Oh...PS - Clay, your check is in the mail. Thanks, again.

Reese is a stud. I'm glad he's working out. A 34 yr old just wasn't going to do much for me in the present. Just another Batavia gamble.

Er...is Joe Nazaire's back spasms injury lowerable or am I stuck with it? I have a hard time believing back spasms can cost a guy 8 months.

I don't even see back spasms listed in the table from the rule changes thread. It does seem strange for the injury length to be that long, but I don't know what the max is.

Whoa, either Dallas and Denver want Indy to take this division or they've got some kind of secret on us.

3-3 Sim. The crazy good news is that after a recent stretch of 10 straight victories, Denver has only won 3 of the last 10. So why is it good? Denver has managed to jump into first place as a result. Crazy.

Got a pleasant suprise, 9th round pick SP Hai-feng Goei took a jump in ratings. It's funny because he was showing signs, my manager in A ball wanted him as the #1 starter when I did auto. He's pitched really well, but the last sim he suddenly is ranked as the #90 prospect. That and a 5-1 sim made my day.

                        Philadelphia Freedom (62 - 49, 1.0 GB)

                        3-3 Overall

Pretty much what I expected out of this sim. We’ve played three series against Washington this year and have gone 1-2 in each one of them. Still 1 game back in the division and 3 games up in the WC standings.

                        2-1 @ Davenport

Gm 1 Newly acquired Tim Nathan made his second start for the Freedom and it was a good one. He went 7 innings allowing only 1 ER. The bullpen came in and finished the last two innings without any damage. Mel Woodbury hit a solo HR and former Brawler Dave Ibison hit a SF for the only two runs we needed.
                        PHI 2 DAV 1

Gm 2 Joe Aurillo went 7 innings giving up 2 ER (2 run HR by Kenichi Sato in the 6th) while striking out 7. The offense jumped on an erratic Thad Souders early scoring 4 runs in the first, 2 walked in with the bases loaded. 3B Juan Coera went 3-4 scored 3 R and had a triple and a HR.
                        PHI 9 DAV 5

Gm 3 The much anticipated return of Ben Irvin didn’t last long. Hopefully it was just a matter of trying to shake off some rust (3.0 IP 6 ER 5H 4BB). Either way it was just good to see him back on the hill. The offense showed a little life later in the game putting 4 runs on the board after the 4th inning (homeruns from both Desi Rochs and Jim Newlin), but it wasn’t enough to dig out of the early hole.
                        PHI 4 DAV 8

                        1-2 vs Washington

Gm 1 We seem to have one of these games each time we meet up with Washington. We got a good start from SP Nathan MacOwl (7.1 IP 2ER 7K), but the bullpen let it get away. The defense didn’t help either as Greg Josey and Geoff Scott both committed errors and allowed 2 unearned runs to score.
                        WAS 5 PHI 4 (10 innings)

Gm 2 The story of Ray Minnoz continues. 8.0 IP 1 ER 2K and another win. It’s his 6th straight start with a victory. Every position player had at least 1 hit and 7 different batters had 1 RBI. The defense committed two more errors. Our defense is fairly shoddy. Washington plated 3 runs in the top of the ninth to raise tensions, but Joe Alveraz was able to finally shut the door and picked up his 25th save.
                        WAS 5 PHI 7

Gm 3 Tim Nathan got rocked, allowing 7ER in 6.1 IP. The offense couldn’t muster more that 4 hits and 2 runs. It’s best just to move on and forget these types of games.
                        WAS 7 PHI 2

                        Good:

Ray Minnoz - Just keeps providing solid effort after solid effort. He won his 6th straight start

                        Not as Good:

Cristián Correa - He wasn’t terrible, but he hasn’t been as unhittable as he was early in the season. I get the feeling he is hitting a rookie wall. We’ll probably start limiting his appearances

Greg Josey - followed up a fine effort last week by driving in 1 run and posting a .560 OPS.

                          Washington Bats (72-39)

                          1-2 vs. Los Alamos 2-1 @ Philly
A .500 week against two contenders, not bad.

                          The Good
-Recently acquired 1B Eddie O'Fallon initially told me he would test FA. Now, he wants a 5-year $100 million deal. I shot him offer about half that, we will see how he responds.

-2B Robert Abbott bounced back from a slow July and is hitting .412 in August.

-MR Chad Williams returns from five weeks on the DL. Need another bullpen arm as the season grows longer.

                          The Bad
-SS R.A. Grounds hyper-extended his elbow and will miss two more weeks. Playing in his place will be former starter Jack Dynes. Who is absolutely furious that he is no longer a starter. A free-agent at seasons end, hopefully Dynes makes the most of this opportunity.

-RF Dave Robbins follwed up his best month of the season (.869 OPS) with a 2/26 August. I'm not so mad that I traded for him because what I gave up wasn't a ton, I'm just pissed I'm going to have to pay this clown for the next couple of seasons. Still keeping my fingers crossed he turns it around.

                          The Ugly
-Eddie O'Fallon is hitting .250 since the trade. Joe Sierra is hitting .326. Go figure.

                          Farm Report
-24th overall prospect SS Clint Johnston has been tearing it up since being promoted to Double-A. After hitting just .277 in Single-A this year, Johnston is hitting .340 in his first month of Double-A ball. I've tried to teach him how to play thirdbase but his future in the bigs is probably at 2B and SS.

-Promoting a bunch of guys this sim from Single-A to Double-A. Only two weeks left in both seasons, I figure I might as well give some younger guys a preview of what they will be facing next season.

                            California Kodiaks (63-48)

                            1-2 @ Carolina
                            2-1 vs. Wilmington

                            The Good
                            - Never thought I'd say this... but we're the best pitching staff in all of the BLB.

                            - Mack McMurdo. 2-0, 16 IP, 0 R.

                            - Neto Bermeo, .450/.500/.600/1.100, 1 HR, 5 RBI's.

                            The Bad
                            - Offense still sucks. I can't find a lead off hitter for the life of me.

                            - Franois Dupuis, 12 for his last 90.

                            - Bing-de She, ERA continues to rise. I'm going to move him to mop up until he pitches out of his cold streak.

                            The Ugly
                            - Galterio Tibaldi hit .385 for the week yet his OBP was only .357. I'm not quite sure how that happens. Any ideas?
