    4-3

    1-0 vs. Wilmington
    2-1 vs. Virginia
    1-2 vs. Morgantown

    Good

    - Cam Mills pitched well again. 7.1 IP, 2 ER, 10 K's, 1 BB
    - My young outfield of La Vergne (25) and Fehilly (26) are playing well. Maybe some future hope for the Muckdogs.
    - CL Ken Bayer is turning into one of the most dominant in the game. 16 saves, 0.85 ERA, 0.78 WHIP.
    - 1B Finbow gets called up and hits .280 with 2 HR's and 5 RBI's for the week.

    Bad

    - This game owes me for what it did to Stephens. It turned one of the best young pitchers in the game into crap over the off season for no reason. Last week...18.47 ERA. Two games, 6.1 IP, 13 ER, 17 hits.

You should have never sent down Finbow last year.

He had a good 1985, started off slow in '86, dominated AAA. And was dominating AAA again this year.

On second thought... send Finbow back to AAA!

Ya it was a mistake. I thought Hidrogo would play well at C and figured Uchiyama was a lock at 1B. Not so much!

Yeah, he sucks. You should trade him to me.

OOTP ruins young stud pitchers for no reason, and almost every one...

            Jeff Franklin
            Nate Magness
            David Tardif
            Don Stevens

all took massive ratings hits and are back end starters at best now. It's one of the reasons I'd be afraid to sign O'Moore if I was an interested team.

Jeff Franklin had a severe shoulder injury and was never the same. Look at the numbers. Now a solid back-end starter. Magness is a solid #2 or #3 on most clubs. He was never going to be a huge strikeout guy. The guy only pitched in 13 games in the minors before being a BLB regular. Tardif had a shoulder injury that caused him to miss all of 1985. Still a solid middle of the rotation guy but not what he was before. Don Stevens always was rated high but it's not like he ever put up great numbers in the BLB. Then he had a year long injury at 19-years-old. Probably a back-end guy.

So three of the four you mentioned actually had severe season ending arm injuries at very young ages. Probably had a lot to do with it more than "ruining stud pitchers for no reason."

I would say you have it exactly backwards. Way more starting pitchers in OOTP are consistently effective than IRL. I'll bet you can't find a single major league pitcher who has shown the consistency over the last 9 or 10 seasons that McEvoy, Theodore, Corrigan and Chavarraga have shown in the BLB. And there are at least 4 or 5 others who, while not quite at that level have been remarkably good (by RL standards) for a long time. Maddux and Clemens maybe have during their careers but you have to go back at least 15 or 20 years for that.

Also, I didn't realize that Magness was ruined. I hope Clay knows about that.

And now you know why I'm cringing in anticipation for Denny Erwood's return. He was never dominant, but he was developing into a number 2. Now, I don't know if he'll end up being the back-end veteran for the young crop of pitchers coming up in Denver.
