Dang, the AI should have known not to give the All Star start to Carrillo. That boneheaded move cost us some dough.

I am surprised that the game didn't give the win to Brode. I thought it knew that the 5-inning rule doesn't apply to the ASG.

On pace for just about 100 wins this season...mainly due to better hitting and a 30-13 road record. Waiting for the sky to fall......and for Stu to SIM more in his favor.

          Philadelphia Freedom (46 - 39, 4.5 GB)

          1-2 @ Windy City

We had three good starting pitching performances, but it only led to 1 win. Our offense really suffers from not having a spark plug in the leadoff spot. No one that we have tried in that role can consistently produce the kind of OB numbers we need to get things going.

Gm 1: Joe Aurillo went 7.1 solid innings allowing only 4H and 1ER. Unfortunately Dante Geake was better. We managed only two singles, 1 each in the first two innings. That was it.
          PHI 0 CHI 1

Gm 2: Nathan MacOwl cruised through 8 innings allowing only 1ER on 7H. He was removed from the game despite only needing 86 pitches to get to that point. SS Geoff Scott hit a two out HR in the top of the 9th to break a 1-1 tie. Backup 1B Roku Nakano entered as a defensive replacement in the bottom of the 9th in a double switch to get CL Joe Alveraz in the game to close things out. Alveraz immediately walked the first two batters and then gave up a single to Don Alexander to load the bases. He got the next batter on strikes. The next batter up, young Tynan Cutter, hit a groundball to Nokano at 1B and he Bucknered it to let the tying and winning runs to score.
          PHI 2 CHI 3

Gm 3: This was an offensive explosion compared to the first 2 games. Ray Minnoz continues to deliver exactly what we need from him, 6.1 IP 2ER 5K, and picked up the W to even his record at 4-4. The offense racked up 8 runs and 13 hits led by former leadoff hitter Desi Rochs who went 3-4 2R 4RBI and his 4th HR (a 3 run blast). He also threw in his first SB for good measure. Young All-Star Cristián Correa was asked to get 4 outs for the save and he obliged.
          PHI 8 CHI 4

          Good:

Starting Pitching - The three starters went a combined 21.2 innings over three games and allowed 4ER.

Cristián Correa - Gave us 3 innings without allowing a run, struck out 4 and picked up a save when Joe Alveraz couldnt go in the 3rd game.

          Not as Good:

Jim Newlin - managed 1 hit (a single) in 12AB.

          All-Star Performances

          Mel Woodbury 1-4 1R 1HR 1 RBI
          Cristián Correa 1.0 IP 1H 0ER 2K
          Joe Alveraz 1.0IP 2H 1ER 1K

            California Kodiaks (50-34)

            0-2 vs. Los Alamos

            The Good
            - Joe Toapanta and Oswaldo Escarcaga. 17 IP, 4 ER, 9 K's, 3 BB, sadly neither got a win.

            - Joe Negron went 2 IP, 3 K'S, 0 H, 0 BB. Also made his first all star team. Congrats to him.

            The Bad
            - Robby Shannon, 0/9.

            - Overall hitting. We just haven't been able to hit at home this season. For the sim the team hit .166. That's not going to get it done.

Next Week: 1 vs. Los Alamos, 3 vs. Carolina, 3 @ Davenport

Your park is built for my team as my lineup sports 3 lefites, 3 switch hitters plus one platoon arrangement so only one RHH when I face a RHP. I am planning on moving the right-field fences in Davenport in as soon as I can afford it.

I was surprised to see that your lineup leans to the right now with Llombart, who appears to be on his way out, the only exception. Maybe we ought to just switch locations. That shouldn't cost nearly as much as a move to a new location since no new stadiums are required. Or simpler yet we could just trade our entire rosters including minor-league systems (and ourselves of course) and you could worry about WC and I could take over the job of worrying about Washington.

Yeah... my teams dynamic has changed faster than the park could. Harcourt was built to hit there, Nino not as much (not that he can't hit anywhere). I still tend to favor LH prospects and FA's, but my core is definately RH now.

I assume this is meant as "... for all I care" since I only stole one base against you.

If so then I ask you what of the 18,000 people who live there? What about the National parks, National Forrest and Puebla that surround it? Not to mention the Los Alamos National Laboratory!

Words can cause so much pain Linty. Please think of all those that you may (in)advertently hurt.
