5-1 for the week. Took 2 out of 3 @ Los Alamos. The only loss was Aurillo's start. Swept three at home against the defending champions.
Good:
Mel Woodbury - .400 7R 3HR 8RBI
Sammy Gaines - Rule 5er picked up his first career BLB hit and then proceeded to get 4 more during the week
Bad:
2B Desi Rochs is going to the DL with plantar fascitis for 4 weeks. We're now down our starting RF and 2B.Last edited by BradZ; 06-18-2009, 09:05 PM.Philly Freedom

Same start as last year, under .500 losing a ton of 1 run games, it's eerie. Only hope it ends the same too.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

3-3.
Bad news: My best young pitcher Ken Bayer is very unhappy because he can't be the closer. CL Simonds is signed relatively cheap the next 3 years...sweet.
Good news: Steve Bing is back! After going down for 11 months last season he returns in 5 days. The guy stole 40 bases in 134 games last year and is a great outfielder.

Back to reality. Kiddies can still hit. And hopefully Borkholder's home run sparks a little jump in his bat. Guy should be hitting over .300.
Top 10 Prospect Jeremiah Gray has thrown over 13 Innings in A ball and given up one earned run. Unfortunately, he's 0-1 (with a microscopic ERA).
And what is this I see with former first round pick Jared Williamson throwing a complete game shutout? He better be a late bloomer.Last edited by Carlos; 06-19-2009, 09:19 AM.Denver Bulls

Virginia Colonials (6-6 : 2 GB in Stout)
Record This Week: 2-4
2-1 vs Carolina
What Went Right:
- Two Good Pitching performances from Arrendondo (1-1) and rookie 'Ironfist' Herrera (2-0)
- Zero (0) Errors
- Nino wakes up against his former team with 4 XBHs including two HRs in the series finale
- Crowd near capacity all three games
What Went Wrong:
- Stranded 51 runners in 3 games
- Magness got hit hard in Game 2 including 2 HRs, one of them the go ahead 2-run jack to former Colonial Frank Hamlet
- Too many walks by the entire staff
0-3 @ Davenport
What Went Right:
- Pitchers surrendered only 9 walks in 31 innings (6 of which were in the last game)
- Dale O'Hegarty hit his 1st HR of the season
- Vincent Nino goes 5 for 13 in the series and adds his 3rd HR of the week
What Went Wrong:
- Got swept! What else can you say?
- 13 Runners Left is Scoring Position in the series
- A decent start by Franklin in Game 1 effected by lengthy rain delay
- Hard to watch Vern Branch already contributing in Davenport
Miscellaneous....
- Locked up Arrendondo for a couple more guarenteed seasons. He wanted $15.0+ per, got him for $12.0 plus incentives. The extension boosted our Fan Interest to 96.
- Down on the farm... our Top 3 prospects still in the Minors all had nice opening weeks.... Maeda (AAA) hit .296 with a HR and 8 RBIs... Jerry Morgan (AA) went 2-0 with a 1.35 ERA (11K:4BB)... Orinosuke Takahashi (AAA) hit .481 with a HR and 5 RBI in his first crack at AAA.
- '86 Glove Wizard Catcher Alberto Hernando got a noticable ratings boost and continues to be a doubles machine.
- Josh Poling jumps onto the OSA Top Players list this week at #18
Coming up...
Stout Division Action!!!The Great One!
To many rings to count...
