4-2 start to the year, took 2/3 against Pawtucket and Pittsburgh.

Latham (as I expected) is out for two months with a broken hamate bone.

In better news, Curt Dodson (.400+ BA) and Jerry Ferrell (1-0, 1 ER over 8 innings) got their BLB careers off to a good start.

3-3 week for the Tobs. We took 2/3 from California and lost 2/3 to Baltimore. Outside of Parongao, our starters were terrible. Shawn Gates got injured in the second inning of his start, but luckily will be back by the end of next sim. If our rotation keeps this up, than Castre will be in the majors sooner than I would like. Our bullpen did a nice job however.

Our lineup did a decent job. Nevada Guizan had the best week of his career, but I'm not expecting much out of him at the plate. Opio, Hogan and Hamlet all had nice weeks, while Taracena was garbage. We're going to need some more production out of the back end of the lineup if we are going to contend.

But it's just one week, not enough to draw any conclusions.

        Bad week.

I think Grandon has gone the way of Nicolás Arce. I'm expecting a drop to '3' in contact any sim now.

You got a lot of good out of him early in that contract.

Definitely had me second guessing Sanchez over Grandon.

Why the hell do they even have an option for a 1 man rotation?! I mean really??

              I saw that.

Lucky no one blew out an arm.

                  Washington Bats - Week 1

                  2-1 @ Los Alamos
                  2-1 vs. Windy City

                  The Good
-The middle of my lineup killed it. Dave Robbins hit .304, Mike Murdock .417 and Miguel Angel Padilla .500. Murdock and MAP could be the #4 and #5 hitters for this franchise for the next decade.
-Bullpen came up big as usual. Three of the four wins were by one run. Closer Grant Lewis had three saves.

                  The Bad
-Joe Sierra continues to struggle. He hit a lot better as the week went on, but my expectations for him this season continue to fall.
-Fielded a few offers this off-season for Romano Gonzalez...he must have known he has been on the block. Played like trash. Lasted all of two innings.

                  The Ugly
-Season opener. Russ McEvoy. The $90,000,000 man makes his Washington debut. 8 Innings, 4 hits, 2 ER, 1 BB, 10 K. Too bad we failed to score a run.

Wish my players would remember how to hit. Struggling to get runs across, and losing close games.

2-4 to start isn't what I had in mind, but there's still tons of baseball to be played.

I think I did that to start last season and my relievers started almost all the games that sim.

Owner expects us to play .500 ball this season, we went 3-3. So there.

Overall I got 4.5 good starts out of 6 games, some decent hitting, although not enough.

                          Week 1 Pig Tales (3 - 3)

Took 2 of 3 from 'Cuse and dropped 2 of 3 to Indy. 1 - 2 In "Blowouts" (run differential of 4 or more) and 2 - 0 in "Dog Fights" (1 run differential).

                          Heros
Guardamagni and Dealba picked up where they left off (for one week, anyway). Donato racked up 19 Ks this week. "Meltdown" Gilbreath was the forgotten reliever last season, but I'm counting on him to contribute this year. 4.2 scoreless innings in the books.

CF Chan Salguero rapped 7 hits and stole 2 bags. Mr. Consistency (Ken Cahill) came up with 5 RBIs on 5 hits. I love that fat, ugly bastard.

                          Zeros
Every other starter except 2B Leonel Tesina. Let's go, ladies.

                          Neros
I nearly choked on my IPA (India Pig Ale) when MR Gary Closson told me how much he wanted for a two-year extension.

There was absolutely nothing ugly about that game. And to have it on Day 1! Glad we won it, but I'd take that kind of performance from any of my starters any day.
