It's a matter of the scout having a better opinion of him now.

Stephens was that player that the scout would rave about because he has all of these potentials. But after having time to watch him, now the scout can properly assess him and realizes where he really falls.

I actually remembered to do the waiver thingy (after Andrew reminded us, of course).
Damn, I completely forgot. Andrew, if you read this, I'll try to get home and get this done before the sim tonight.

Go to the transactions screen and just drag any players in the minor leagues with a + symbol next to their name to the waivers box.

Doing this now...doesn't it make them mad as well?

I think I ask this question every season; so I PROMISE I will print the answer this time, memorize it, give it to my wife and kids to memorize, and glue it to the cat. (That last bit won't actually help me to remember the answer, I just like gluing things to the cat.)

Now that we have all these players on waivers, what are the rules for claiming/retrieving "your own" players. I assume we can all claim other teams' players at will and the game decides who wins that claim. But are we prohibited from removing our own players from waivers until the 14 days pass? Or can we remove them from waivers now (after 7 days). I wasn't sure if that would automatically (and unfairly) preclude other teams from claiming those players.

if you wanted to keep those players, you need to put them on the active roster. so.....you probably could have just done that already. there is no way to protect them and put them back on your AAA roster. they have to clear first.

I believe that you are also supposed to send your claim to BLB waivers and Andrew will make sure that the correct team gets the player in the case of multiple claims.

Also, the point of this rule is the same as the corresponding one in MLB, which is to give players a shot at the bigs who are not getting that from their current team. If you claim a player he is supposed to receive a major league contract and be added to your active roster. The game does not handle it this way though and there have been examples of players simply being transferred to the minor league system of the claiming team.

So anyone we claim is supposed to go on our major league team? If so, I need to take back all my claims. But I lost about 15 guys, so my minors are depleted...

You can try to put them in your minors, but they're going to have to clear waivers again. At least that's how I understand it.

They are also supposed to get a major league contract before they are put on waivers again, so if they don't get reclaimed you are on the hook for the $280K. In the past players have often just been transferred from one minor league system to another without burdening the new team with a major league contract.

The light bulb is finally on...I think.

So the FA Frenzy to replenish our farm systems will begin shortly.

Man...I don't think there's enough cat to glue this to...
