1980 Amateur Draft Discussion

I went with Ezequiel Covtreras. He is knuckle ball starting pitcher. Maybe the BLB's version of Tim Wakefield?

Wonder what you guys think of him? I was going to risk seeing if he would be around when my 3rd round pick is up, but he was too good to pass on.

My primary pitching scouts only liked about 15 guys in the entire draft. Covtreras was in the middle of the second pack of guys according to my scouts. Might be a sleeper.

According to my top two scouts, I ended up with the top reliever in the draft. Not bad for the 43rd pick.

Unfortunately, he was already taken in the 1st round, 8th pick.
