My head scout only has him super high on Gap Power, but he was the best rated prospect.

I think it looks better than last year so far. It actually looks like there are a good top 10-20 guys. If I remember right from last draft, after the first 5, there was a major drop-off in talent.

My scouts had 4 starting pitchers that were rated high enough to consider drafting very early. Haydon seems to be the only hitter that all my main scouts could agree on, so I don't think that you went amiss there.

If I were picking in your shoes that probably would have been the route that I would have gone. Pitching seems to be the bigger need as most of my staff was picked up off the discard heap so frankly I'm glad that I wasn't faced with the choice of Haydon vs. SP.

He was the 6th rated SP according to my head scout and 5th by my second scout. California's pick, Duncan, was rated 4th by both. The draft is much more interesting with scouts on.

My top 2 scouts had Curry as the #1 SP with a potential rating of 74/80, while the other pitcher was rated 72. Based on all the scouts Curry's ratings ranged from 51 :!: up to 74 but the only thing is, he's dumb as bricks... so I dunno how that will effect his development... while the other pitcher, every scout had him rated at least 70 :!:. Such a hard decision.

I wonder if there's such a thing as draft pick remorse...

Looks like the weird names are never going away, even though I changed them in games. According to Markus, we're stuck with this issue since it edited our original usernames into the names.dat file.

People are welcome to change a players name that gets stuck with one of the screwed up ones.

I had 4 SP that were on my radar. Jack Curry and Nick Duncan among them. I ended up going with Nick because every one of my scouts raved about him. Nick was 4th rated by my head scout, but the other scouts that I was listening to said 2nd across the board. Jack was top rated by my head scout, but 4th or 5th with the others. With Nick already being 20 and having the greater intelligence, he was definitely my pick because of the relatively safe valuation(no scout under 68). The biggest upside is that he should be ready in relatively few seasons and boy do I need him :D

One of my other options rated out better overall and the 4th of the bunch was actually rated extremely high by 2 trusted scouts. I probably would have selected him except for 1 other good scout saying he was a bust in the making with a potential of 53.

Sorry, I was actually decided/ready last night about 10:20pm...but I got called upstairs to help put the kids to bed and never made it back down until the really early morning.
