I probably need two more seasons to conclude whether or not my scout is smokin' loco weed. According to him I had a good draft this time around; and a couple of players did make my organization's top 20 prospect list. But Baseball America says I've got bupkis (1 player at #73). Ol' Hawkeye has pretty good ratings, I just hope he's not dyslexic.

Damn, maybe I'm not so bad at trading like I thought I was.
Really, though, I expected this with Dean as I just had a feeling that his numbers were true, but Lang was very good before I shipped him to Pittsburgh. He was a contract trade. I didn't expect him to tank it like this at all.Denver Bulls

There was something Tickner (former GM) liked about him but I still wasn't convinced. His ratings didn't seem to reflect the praise.
Then that off-season immediately following the trade, Higgins jumped into the Top 100. I remember even then still telling you that it was a lie. I wasn't convinced, but he kept rising through the list.
I would try to believe that I out did you, but really, neither of us expected any of this. My scout loved Orlando Padillo (and there's still some hope with him if he can work out his control problems) and felt there was a future with Shuo and Okuma - that wasn't close to right.
What makes the trade look bad is Lang's movement and control taking a point hit (according to OSA). His BABIP is ridiculously high compared to his Denver days and that's not always the pitcher's fault. Granted, his higher walk rate combined with him always being a homerun pitcher is not helping him much and puts him in bad situations.Denver Bulls

I really could use Higgins as a SS too, because the Howard Haydon era has seemingly come to an end. I have 1st (EG), 2nd (Eden), and 3rd (Briggs) set for the future, but SS not so much.
