Considering we pretty much have the same scout, Manny was almost a no-brainer pick.

      • 34 - LAM
        35 - WAS
        36 - BAL
        37 - WAS

I have two players on my draft list, set to auto...I'm shocked that both have lasted this long. If I land both, I will be even more surprised.

Considering we haven't seen more than 3 or 4 scouts really agree on one person, I would suspect everyone will be surprised their pick fell to them.

          • I know I'm late to the party, but is "refund" really an appropriate nickname for a star athlete?

              • Not surprisingly, my scout appears to be in a world of his own. I love Geoff Rice and basically flipped a coin between him and Gates with my first round pick. Rice was #8 on my draft list.

I'd be thrilled if either Yates or Rice became the player my scout thinks they can be.

                • Can I get a tempory extension with the forums being down for the last while?

I'll have my pick up in like 30, if that's cool. If not, I can force one out.

                    • RF Héctor Gomez (35th overall)
                      P Ernie Bowman (37th overall)
                      P Manny Ortíz (43rd overall)

My scout has Gomez at 5-7-5-4-4. Also the #7th player on the draft list. My scout has Bowman I think something like 7-6-6, and he is #22 on the draft list. My scout is not a big fan of Ortiz (4-3-4), but he is by far the highest rated player on the draft list at #9. Hopefully my scout is wrong and the list is right. I figured he is worth the risk.

Thoughts on my picks so far? Total busts?

                      • I had Gomez as the #2 best talent in the draft. Loved Bowman as well. He'll be a quick jump to the majors.

                        Good picks.

                          #2 best? Wow.

I'm surprised that you picked Gomez ahead of Bowman with those ratings. My scout didn't think much of any of the three though I would have considered all of them in the third round had they lasted.

Meanwhile, my scout seems to be in sync with Carolina's. He regarded both Gate's and Rice very highly. Also, I see Whale just grabbed the guy I wanted in the third.

I went with Gomez because I could live with missing out on a top RP. If Gomez went after I selected, and he turned out to be top 100, I would be devastated.
