    EDIT:
Do we have to offer these guys a contract if we select them in the draft, or does that happen the following year?

I see in the rules page there's a 50K charge per pick...
Yes, they get a Major League contract ($280K). If they get returned, I believe you get charged the rest of their contract + 50K and they are returned to the other team's farm system on a minor league deal.

I didn't even realize that Ponte filed. I'm changing my mind... I think he's the SP Pitcher to get. I'm shocked you didn't deal him straight up for a 1st Rounder. I'm sure someone would have paid that.

I was trying to re-sign him up until he filed. It really wasn't part of my plan to have him walk. I just didn't think he was worth quite what he was asking and he seems to disagree though I'm sure he'll end up getting more than that in free agency. I sent him 4 or 5 offers this season and he declined every one.

On the cheap I think someone will get a great player in Odilio Farelo, my LF last year.

Put up a .370 OBP. Lead the league in LF assist. But he has no power.

Only looking for 1.5 per for two seasons.

I didn't even notice Nathan had a player option on '87. This is the first time anyone has ever walked on me. It surprised the shit out of me to see that email.

That ought to leave you plenty of money to get into a bidding war with Syracuse for the top-drawer free agents, while leaving the rest of them to us bottom feeders.

I screwed myself with the Esser signing last year and ate an extra 5 mil in luxury tax so no I'm not really up there with the big boys like Miss/Syracuse. I don't want to get hit with a penalty this year so I'll probably be able to sign one high profile player. I've got my eyes on only two players really. I'm telling everyone now....HARCOURT is one of them.

                    Interesting tidbit:

Did you know that Washington's BENCH COACH (our former manager here in Baltimore) makes more money than over 50% of the managers in the league?

                    Including his own.

As far as I know they're supposed to increase slightly throughout the years.

Go to your team's homepage in game and click on "Options & Ballpark" (under the Roster tabs).

I think if you go to your teams Home Page there is a button called Options & Ballpark that will show your dimensions and fence height.

I thought players were supposed to get league minimum their first 3 years? Or is this a service time issue?

NM, I guess 1984 would be considered his first year.

Look at my personnel. Someone is getting ready to take over.

By the way, I raided Wilmington. Raided. I took their former manager, pitching coach, and hitting coach.
