Feels good to finally NOT have a guy on the Top 25 salaries list.

I think this may be our best Free Agent Class to date. Very interesting. Some real talent in that 32-35 year old range.

We're not spending in FA this season. We need a b/u Catcher and other than that... we're not participating.

It seems to me it is by far the best FA class we've had but maybe I misremember.

      Some questions

      Who gets the biggest payday?

What is the over/under on the total $ value of the biggest contract received?

What is the over/under for the biggest yearly average salary received?

I skimmed through a few guys and the highest initial asking price I saw was about $24.5 per season. There was a lot of guys looking for something in the 20's. There were a few guys who's initial demands were pretty low, but I'm sure will be bid up.

My guess is that someone like Leonel Tesina will get the biggest deal for position players. I think there are a couple guys that may be better short term, but Tesina just turned 29 and is coming off a really, really solid season. His production for a 2B is really among the best in the BLB. I see him easiliy cashing a 5 year - $110.0+ deal.

The Pitchers... maybe Tim Nathan... Geake may get a rich 1 year deal based on last season. Broderick Joyce should get a lot of offers.

Second year in a row where I will not be picking up any free agents.

Sad to see how many good players got put on the 40 man this past sim... I thought some owners were going to forget and give us a rich Rule V crop.

I sent one on Tuesday with four names on it.

My list now only has one left.

Another Newbie Question, the Rule V Draft Pool is listed under "BLB--->Transactions--->Draft Pool?"

                    Thanks Clay.

Never dealt with a Rule 5 draft before. Poppin' the cherry with this one.

How about sandwich picks???? Who'll pull one?

I figure Tesina (Denver), O'Fallon (Maine) and Cabezas (Carolina) are locks. Any other big names eligible?

Just remember that the player has to stay on your Active Roster (BLB Level) for the entire season if you take them.

                          Gotcha.

I think that's what making my looking at these players so tedious...

                          EDIT:
Do we have to offer these guys a contract if we select them in the draft, or does that happen the following year?

I see in the rules page there's a 50K charge per pick...

Ponte. Am I even allowed to get two?
