  • End of an Era: Freedom GM takes a bow

Nine years. Hard to believe it's been that long.

Guys, it has been a pleasure.

But it's been awhile since I truly enjoyed playing this game. Certainly since before we switched to OOTP 9. I credit the great community we've built here for keeping it interesting in spite of the game's shortcomings.

It's time for me to move on. It's not worth the commitment anymore, as it's become a chore rather than a fun activity. That I'm graduating in a week and will necessarily have less free time compounds that problem.

I'll still pop in here from time to time, and I'll be over in the OSFL forums.

I'll try to avoid stepping in the Gremades on my way out.

    Adieu.

As an original owner, you have to find your own replacement.... quitter.

(Sorry to see you go, Z... don't let losing to Linty shake you this bad!)

As I said last night, if you making the playoffs over me kept you in the league I would have gladly taken the loss.

        I'll miss you man.

Anibal Alsina...the man who defeated Matt Blumenthal...

But seriously, a graceful exit sir. You stole the show. Just like Mike Remy.

Sucks to see another original owner step down...but you did it at a good time at the end of the season. Good luck post graduation and don't let Pat try to talk you into getting a job selling Sham Wows or whatever he's peddling these days.

Sad to see another original owner leave but I completely understand where Z is coming from. As I told Z via PM, he'll always be welcomed back to the BLB if circumstances change down the road.

                          Good Luck.

So I guess a deal for Aurillo is out of the question now?

BTW - What did I miss at the sim? Did the one game playoff really cause this?

No, it wasn't the sim. I don't want to speak for Z but I think he's been considering it for awhile but wanted to wait until the end of the season, which we certainly appreciate.

If it wasn't clear enough in the initial post, please let me reiterate that the only thing a win in the tiebreaker would have done was extend my stay by a few games.

As for the Aurillo thing, well ... the decision wasn't easy either.

Jeez, I don't need Linty hanging himself out of guilt. He needs to focus on bringing home the title for the Porter.
