      I don't like this division.

It scares the crap out of me.

Bulldogs go 6-1 to pull just 2 back of California.

We are making the most of our opportunities as we are 10-4 so far in September, 7 of those 10 coming against fellow Porter members. Our pitching has been lights out and with a couple of big bats waking up(Tandy/Washington). We might be a surprise for most from worst to 1st in September.

        I'm crunk about this.

Lost my lead off man for the rest of the year...and a little beyond. Steve Bing is out 7 months, combine that with 2B Mclear who's out for 9 months!

We did win the BLB A Championship though...and are playing in the AAA as we speak!

If it weren't for those slackers down in AA you'd still have a chance to win all four titles, since you're only 4 back in your division at the BLB level.

              The Good:
19 games left and we're in first by two games.
Of those 19 games, we finish the season with a 10 game homestand. We are 42-29 (.592) at home.
Our combined record against our opponents the rest of the was is 41-30.
              We control our own destiny.

              The Bad:
Hitting in August and September. Outside of Jose Compres this team has just stopped hitting. If not for some great starts from my staff, I'd be out of this thing already.

              The Ugly:
Bing-de She my closer went down with shoulder problems last sim and is out for seven months. Unfortunately this is the second major injury for him and he suffered a 1-1-1 rating loss this past sim. This seems to be one of those CEI's that aren't CEI's at the time but when you look back a few years later you notice that this injury is where the players career died. I love that about OOTP. His ratings loss has a very organic feel to it, and very much like what we could see on any MLB team. While I'm still holding out hope, here's to Bing-de She, 61 saves at only the age 24. Injuries derailed this kid way too soon.

Not exactly organic though with him. He was on the juice. Just like most people say Prior was.

OK...So "allofasudden" the Furry Pigs are averaging 1.5 injuries per sim. Bite me. At least they don't seem to be major injuries. Called up a bunch of warm bodies to get me through the next week or two.

I also shuffled my relief staff and I'm trying out a rookie (Sergio Bela) at closer this week. Bell still has the yips. Closson probably would have been fine eventually. But at this time of year, I'd rather have him comfortable and pitching well from the #1 MR slot.

Congratulations (AA) Champions, Mohave Dust Devils! And a tip o' the hat to the 2nd place Socorro Stampede (A). A wag of the finger to (AAA) Boulder City Big Horns for blowing a 1-game division lead the last week of the season, and missing the playoffs by one game with a 63 - 68 record.
