We REALLY need to look at injuries again I think. Lost two more starting positional players. Luckily ones back in a day, the other a month. But as of today have 4 of 8 out.
I feel bad for my starting pitchers. This could be the best 1 through 5 staff in BLB history. And they're paying the price for having half our lineup out and a bullpen that just can't get it's act together.
They're gonna have to shut everyone down, every game.

The wheels have completely come off... I'm sinking fast... could easily fall into the Top 3 picks...
Biggest pisser of the week... Artie Rhodes (TOP 20 BA Prospect), who was coming up in September to get his BLB swings for next season, OUT for 2 months.
Another positive week...taking 2 of 3 in each series for a 4-2 week. Albors has been the biggest pickup by far, batting .301 with 14 HR and 44 RBI, and a nice .400OBP in half a season played. No matter what I do, I can't get those damn Clowns off my back!
I agree with Linty, as the next 9 games are my make or break possibly. All at home, but all against teams currently in first place. Just have to hope my bullpen continues to hold up with its 3.01 ERA.
Washington Bats (71-46) 5-1 Sim
2-1 vs. Davenport. 3-0 vs. Baltimore. About what I expected. Daveport, and Baltimore for that matter, have always played Washington tough, but I am one of the leagues best at home.
The Good
-With OF Michio Nago going down for the season, someone in the OF had to step up. The two batters getting extra at-bats because of his injury, are Miguel Angel Padilla and Larry Fitzsymons. MAP hit .400 with a 1.170 OPS. Fitz hit .500 with a 1.173 OPS. Wow.
-My "worst" SP this season has been Cristofor Villazon and his 3.80 ERA. This week he got two starts, going the full nine innings in both, with a 2.00 ERA and a .67 WHIP.
The Bad
-RP Wilber Nickerson pitched in his first game since July 24th. He gave up 3 ER without recording an out. In a bullpen full of above average guys, Nickerson might be the odd man out.
-Xalbador Ansoátegui made his debut. 1/8, with two strikeouts.
The Ugly
-It is going to be UGLY if California beats Philly for the Porter title. The talent that Z has on that team in comparison to the Kodiaks, is disgusting.

How about Batavia's Roger Simonds (a guy I accidently forgot to protect in the expansion draft) He's 34/34 saves and hasn't blown a save opportunity in 37 tries.

My pitching as been phenomenal this year...and it's surprised me more than anything. Stephens goes down for a month though which really hurts...and scares me as well...hopefully he wasn't rushed along too fast.
Hitting is pathetic again. Just .205 for the week with 44 K's and 15 BB's. Sweet...
Wow, California in first place. Linty will be manager of the year, no doubt from me. He's definitely turned that franchise around- for all the crap he got from the bandstand about his trades, he's done a fine job.
