A surprising 5-1 sim. Los Lunas and Dallas coming up next week though, I'm not expecting the same results.

LOL. I was going to post the exact same thing.

No more Cali is shitty jokes from me(until next year).

Anyway, we moved up a couple more games to make "potentially" make Porter a 3-horse race.

            5-1 SIM, 2-1 vs. Morgantown/ 3-0 vs. Davenport

            The Good:

We are 7-2 to start August. We may be getting hot at the right time, or it could be that we played two last place teams last week. Either way, I'll take them where we can get them. Soto, Nathan and Lillie have carried us so far in August with 4-1 record, 48 1/3 innings, 1 HR allowed and just 3 earned runs. One of those games was a 10 inning 1 H, 1 ER, CG loss for Nathan.

            The Bad and Ugly:

I want to fuckin' choke Rafael Randez right now. After a couple of good seasons he has been complete crap this year. 6.57 ERA, 61 IP,and just all around terrible pitching, I wonder why our manager continued to make him our first option out the pen. I have given this dude a chance and he continues to disappoint. I've finally had with him and he's back in AAA. I called up 22-year old reliever, Dana Clifford. He can't be much worse than Randez has been all season.

So our first sweeping SIM, going 6-0 against Dallas and Sin City. Had one 17 run and one 14 run game against Dallas....barely score that much in a week. Overall 58 runs scored against 24 given up. Six of my starters (Andrew, Donegan, Snyder, Albors, Castro, and Burchette) were on the Top Performers sheet. Can't be too upset about that. Also increased the WC lead to 3.

Chuck Lindsay's first start.... 5 innings with a couple of earned runs and 5 K's. Not great, but not bad either.

Could the rest of you do me a favor and start beating the hell out of Hartford and Dallas? Is that too much to ask?

Our next sim is likely going to break this little run we are on though. 3@Windy City. 3@Washington. From a 5-1 sim, to a 1-5 sim.

I'm also anticipating a horrible sim next time through... 1-5 most likely. I'll have three at home against Virginia and then three on the road at Los Alamos, a team I've always struggled against.

ugh. samarano is now out 8 weeks. That will essentially end his time as a Slammer. Peace, Vittorio.

The injury bug has taken us just as bad if not worse than anyone. Right now on the DL:

                            Samarano - Starting LF
                            Halpern - Starting CF
                            mark Jerome - Starting C
                            Don Stevens - #1 starter
                            Julian Orozco - his replacement
Tajo Hernandez - the replacement of the replacement
                            Roger Willis - Utility inf
                            N. Soleano - 4th OF

The injured list also includes these dudes who would be in the bigs if not injured:
                            AAA- SP Fernando Asencio
                            AAA- SP Clarence Nicholson
                            Charlotte Knights - OSFL
                            Syracuse Slammers - BLB

My hitting is still atrocious. One HR in 6 games...geez. Not to mention my man crush Stephens gave up 3 HR's and went 0-2 for the week...but we still went 3-3!

One question. I have 7 day lineups on...with allow subs on as well. I had Sizer sitting on the bench b/c he was hurt for 1 week but he still had 19 AB's when his replacement starter only had 1 AB. Does "Allow Starting Subs" sub in the better player or only if they are tired? I just don't understand why he played when I had him out of the depth chart and lineup.
