We got a sweep over Morgantown in our only series this week, so I'm happy with that. Shawn Gates continues to pitch great and we hit the ball well enough to win. Can't complain with our play, just wish I would have gotten some help in the Wildcard race. Despite their struggles, Windy City is not going to give up the Bock.

My expert managing also got the IL a win in the All-Star game, making me 2-0 there.

1-2 sim, two close games against Indy in which they won one and we won a game. The other game wasn't as close. O'Fay is being a bum so I placated him and placed him at the top of the order.

Oh well, 5.5 back. We have Pawtucket and Pittsburgh this sim. Big, big sim.

Wow, we got swept and none of my starting pitchers from my 7-Day lineup pitched. Was looking forward to seeing Stephens, Sasaki, and Noke pitch too!

I'm guessing I was talking about the sim number...he initially had 13.

We've finally hit our cold streak. Saw this coming a mile away. We're a very unbalanced team. The loss of Burgett is gonna just kill us, and there's nothing we can do.

Bullpen continues to lose games. The good news is Ramirez is close to returning.

Either way we're limping right now.

I think "nothing we can do" is a little strong. You have a good young team that is going to be good for years... why not throw a high pick or two at team with a good catcher on an expiring contract? This league is fat with Catchers.

Realistically... does Mississippi have enough right now to make a run? So why wouldn't they move Clint Lance for a good offer.

                  I say no-brainer.

Phew, at first I thought they had hung the wrong banner for Joe Reyes.

Wow... tough stretch for Morgantown.... 2-19 in their last 21. That hurts.

I am not sure what has happened, but we are tanking. Our Batting average for the season has gone from .250+or so to .230 in 3 weeks. Our starters ERA for the season has gone from 2 to 4+ in that amount of time. That is some impressive sucking for a 3 week period to drop the season totals that much.

Oh well, we have had unprecedented success for an expansion team in its 1st 3 seasons, it might be our time to suck it up and get some high picks for a few seasons.

Now tied with the Clowns for the Wild Card lead, but I keep losing ground in the division.

One thing to note. My team plays better at home than on the road...and I mean that statwise more than anything. We play .500 ball on the road, but overall average and ERA are significantly better in Harpoon Park.

                            April: 16 home/6 away - 16-6
                            May: 13 home/15 away - 13-15
                            June: 10 home/17 away - 11-16
                            July: 6 home/19 away - currently 4-4

So the numbers have been trending that my record is pretty reflective of my home and away schedule. If that holds true for the rest of July...that's trouble. If we can stay around .500 and win 12 instead of 6, that would be huge. From July 31-August 27, we play 22 out of 25 games at home....where the season will be make or break.
