A few guys I think deserve consideration:

OF Justin Chewning- the kid is only 23 and has 44 RBI (#2 among all RF) in only 158 at bats. He boasts a .851 OPS. If he wasn't injured to start the season, his numbers would be even gaudier. Over 550 AB, the numbers project to 154 RBI and 21 HR. He's a star in the making and is probably my most legitimate All-Star in history. Vote for Chewning :)

C Clint Lance- he's done all that we've asked. He's got a near .400 OBP and has been ridiculous behind the plate (58% CS, only 12 attempted SB). He's got the 2nd best OPS among catchers in the DL behind Kubota and is a worthy candidate to go to the All-Star game.

P Troy Sisk- dude has been nasty this year, compiling a 1.09 WHIP. He's been a horse out of the pen and has walked only 6 in 40 innings. He's got a 2.61 ERA and absolutely deserves to be in consideration.

P Joe Moran- the young closer has had his ups and downs but still has 19 saves with a 2.20 ERA. He's top 5 in the league and saves and would be a good selection to the All-Star team

P Gervasio Areas- 25 year old, 1.21 WHIP and has had a lot of hard luck losses. Long shot but he should be in the discussion.

We've only got one guy that might deserve to go to the All-Star game:

        Dylan Lillie, 2.60 ERA 6-4, 3 CG, 1 SO.

          My First Ever Pimpin' Post

SP - I think Donato Guardamagni is a no-brainer. But I'd like to give a shout out to Igor Goderie. He's pitching well above his ratings this year, and if it weren't for him, there's no way my pitching would be strong enough to compensate for my almost total lack of hitting.

RF - At 24, Phil Sephton still has a long, prosperous career in front of him. But he has been virtually the only bright spot in our offense all season. (Even the once mighty Ken Cahill has let me down.) Excellent defensive skills too.

            Only 3 worthy ones

1b Keppel. Probably backup. But no real standout 1b's this year.
2b Hildenbrand. Amato's probably the lock here. But his numbers aren't that much better than Hildy's.
P Jeremiah Wallace. Def. not top pick, but might sneak into your top 5. He has a 8-4 record with a 3.26 ERA and 78K in 88 innings pitched.

I don't really have anyone that I think deserves a spot this year, but I see that McCoy has gotten some votes.

Buzzell speaks for himself, but I'll sorta pimp Curt Goodwin. 4-5, 3.35 ERA, only 78 hits allowed in 91 innings...also has 81 K's.

                  Virginia Colonials to consider....

Joshua Poling (2B) - I think Poling is my only real "gimme" this season. Probably the best offensive 2B this season.

Dale O'Hegarty (SS) - O'Hegarty is having a great, great season... unfortunately... that OTHER guy in Wilmington is having an awesome one as well. I think on the surface, O'Hegarty is probably the #2 SS at the All-Star break... but I think if you did into the deeper numbers (BBs, Runs, etc...) I think you can make a case for him starting.

Frank Hamlet (1B) - Really, solid season so far for Hamlet... but this position is just too deep. Think he deserves pimping though.

Nate "The Skull" Magness (SP) - The 5-4 record may turn a few people off... but his 1.91 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 2 CG (1 SHO), 69K:15BB should merit him a spot on the team.

Joe Arrendondo (SP) - He's hurt so he can't play in the game, but he is pitching very well and deserves to be pimped. 4-2 - 1.69 ERA - 1.05 ERA

                  Martin "Eager Beaver" Carlton (CL/RP) - 4-1 w 15 saves (1 BS) - 1.50 ERA - 1.00 WHIP - 8.34 K/BB
                  The Great One!

                  To many rings to count...

We really don't have anyone to pimp this year. I guess Maureo Gonez and his 16 HR's might stand out at 1B but I doubt it.
                    Charlotte Knights - OSFL
                    Syracuse Slammers - BLB

The top pitiching in the IL is crazy this season. It seems like this league is way out of line with the number of nearly unhittable pitchers that are generated at least compared to reality. I haven't noticed this tendancy in other leagues I've seen but maybe I don't pay enough attention to them.

Also, I want to thank whoever voted for Cecilio Genovese for the All Star team. It wasn't me and it keeps me from getting shutout without a single vote for one of my players.

All right, who was the crazy guy that voted for Maho Anastaclo? Really. Stop giving me false hope.

Since Windy City's catcher is out for the game I'd like to present Joe Lavadie as the back up catcher for the IL.

For the year he's hitting as follow. .291/.359/.464... 23 2B, 27 BB, and a VORP of 14.0. He's also thrown out more base stealers than any other catcher with 23 runners caught stealing.

Good Lord! You need to get some Pitchers that can hold runners. He's been run on 62 times in half a season. That's crazy!!!!
