As for my team, we went 4-3. About the same as every other week. Shawn Gates got injured for two weeks. I'm not happy about that since he was really pitching well before going down. One of the leading candidates for IL New Brew, I'd have to think. We also lost a reliever, giving us 4 injured pitchers. Awesome.
LOL, great start, but we won't keep that pace. It's impossible. Especially with Ramirez out for 7 weeks. Now if you see Barrows come up and go 5-1 with a sub 2 ERA, then we're destiny. But he'll be lucky to keep his record over .500.

Syracuse Slammers: D. Stevens was injured while pitching. The Diagnosis: rotator cuff inflammation. He's expected to miss about 10-11 months.
Yeah, and I'm a little worried that this could be the beginning of the end for Stevens. He's still only 20, but he's shown little to no improvement over his 4 BLB seasons and his ratings by my scout have gone down, down, down in the last 18 months. With a 11 month injury who knows what will happen.

Boloderes has been pitching great in AAA so he'll return to the big time. Orozco and Tajo Hernandez might be up sooner than later though.

Damn, sucks to see Don Stevens go south like that. I always checked his stats after each sim to see how he's doing.

Wayne Deel, as expected, is on the DL... again. At least I'm paying him nothing this time. His 41 year old self was actually hitting pretty well. This sim was solid, 4-3 with a series win over Indy and a split with Hyundai. I hope this is at least the beginning of mediocrity for my team.

I hate that the gods of sim continue to play with my emotions.

There is no way that Maho Anastaclo is that good. Dude hit .414 in May. I could get excited but I know it's just an illusion. He's not that good. And I hate OOTP for trying to make me feel like he is.

I'm almost sure that he switched bodies with Joe Seagarra. Talk about finding a way to quickly end a welcoming party. Seagarra goes from a budding star to average Joe in one month. Screw him. I hope this lowers his arbitration numbers next season.

Pedro Zamarida is the only bat I can rely on. Time and time again, it comes down to him. Whenever I think about giving him $142 million for 10 years, and want to take back a few years, I start to realize that my team would probably be winless if he wasn't in my lineup.

I'm convinced Tesina is tanking so that he could demand less in free agency and rid me of any chance in getting a sandwich pick when he signs with whoever wants to throw his defensive lazy rectum $15+ million a year.

What a bad team. Oh well, I know what I'm trying to do with the minor league team so it's just a few more years of this crap. Of course, if more future starters end up being scrubs after one off-season (see: Guillermo Seco - I want to punch him) then that'll never happen.

YOWZERS! We're ecstatic here in Los Lunas to walk away with a 5 - 2 sim. (2 - 1 Vs Maine; and 3 - 1 Vs Sin City.) We cranked out 7 HRs, which is a veritable explosion for us. But I believe we hit below .200 as a team. Talk about timely hitting...

The month of May was "berry berry good" to us (20 - 8, .714). I'm going to try to keep these guys in a good mood and offer a couple of contract extensions.

              Heros
DH John Harbison - 12/30 (.400), .667 SLG, 2HR, 8 RBI The old man has legged out 4 triples already this season.
RF Phil Sephton - 8/21 (.381), .810 SLG, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 9 R 24 years old with excellent defense and personality traits. Now he's becoming more productive at the plate. I smell a big pay raise coming.
SP Igor Goderie & Ron MacLagan - Each allowed 1 ER in 7.0 IP Gardamagni gets all the attention, but these two guys have quietly accumulated a combined ERA of 2.85 so far this season.
MR Jerry "Godzilla" Kraft. He beat the odds and saved the Monday night game against Maine (see below).

              Zeros
SP Phil Gibson - 9 ER in 7.2 IP (10.57 ERA), 2 HR It's starting to look like I gave Washington a bit too much for him.
CF Gary Lippincott - 4/30 (.133) Back to his old, unreliable and expensive self.

              Neros
1B Vance Miller nearly returned to form, going 5/21 (.238) with a Homer. LF Ken Cahill had a better week (8/32, .250, 2 2B), but he's still waaay below his normal production. (And he supposedly got a slight ratings boost this season.) MR Martin Nigo showed a little bit of what I think he can do. 4 ER in 9.1 IP (3.86 ERA). Plus 11 Ks, but also 6 BBs.

              Game of the Week
Surprisingly, it's not one of the THREE games won by 1 run over Sin City; TWO of which went into extra innings. No, the honor goes to the Monday night, 12-inning, 7 - 5 win against Maine. This game came complete with a 48 minute rain delay in the 11th. "Godzilla" did a helluva job battling the elements; and overcoming a botched double-play that loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the 12th.
