What is this thing called 2nd place? I don't think California has ever seen it this late in the season.

Windy City is like, good and shit.

Vernon Simmonds, however, isn't right now.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. We aren't competitive in many games this year and we are spiraling into one of the worst teams in the league. Through it all, I do like how when you do poorly(or well for that matter) your team feeds off of it. Right now, we just plain stink.

BTW, I think I'm a seller this year and Franklin may be on the block come All-Star break.

7 of our 11 losses have been one run games. There's no question our young guys are blossoming, we retooled the defense and improved our .OBP this off season, but this is just ridiclous now. I thought we'd have a chance to compete, but this is borderline embarrassing.

Ramirez injury hurts, but at least he'll be back for the stretch run. Barrows will move to #5, but he's no Ramirez. We're gonna cool off for sure, but I'll take the lead while I can. Burgett's been heating up too.

What a bittersweet week for Virginia...

Another winning sim (4-3), but we fall to 2nd place...

Mike Hinchy actually wins two starts includng a 10K game... but Arrendondo goes down for 6 weeks...

My farm system climbs back up to #1 overall...

and Dale O'Hegarty makes his debut on the Top Players list (completely out of hte blue)...

                    Strange week

After watching all the games this was a very heart-breaking sim. Where is the offense?

                      Game 1 @ Washington.
#5 Starter, Bill Faircloth goes 7 innings, 3 hits, 0 ER
                      we lose 2-0.

                      Game 2 @ Washington
#1 Starter, Nathan goes 8 innings, 8 hits, 1 ER
                      we lose 1-0.

                      Game 3 @ Wahshington
#2 Starter, Soto goes 5 innings, 4 hits, 1 ER
                      we lose 1-3.

                      Game 4 @ Cali
Cali smashes on Franklin as usual.
                      we lose 1-8.

                      Game 5 @ Cali
                      #4 Starter, Lillie goes 7 innings, 4 hits, 1 ER, 6 SO
                      we win 3-1.

                      Game 6 @ Cali
#5 Spot Starter, Nelson goes 7 innings, 8 hits, 2 ER
                      we lose 2-3.

                      Game 7 @ Cali
#1 Starter, Nathan goes 7 innings, 6 hits, 1 ER
                      we lose 2-3.

These are all games we probably would have won the last two seasons. Especially against Cali.

I've learned three things so far this season:

                      1. Pay your coaches.
                      2. Pay your coaches.
                      3. Pay your coaches.

I also learned how important Ortiz was to our bullpen.

Ugh, 2-5 sim. Abe posted a tidy 7+ ERA in May after being under 2 in April. Fortunatly he's with us instead of Pitt, or by now he'd have been assassinated. By his owner.

So far we just arent consistent, so we need to step it up, soon.

Elton Jessie has been a pleasant surprise, with a +VORP and 10 HR's. Hope he keeps it up. Dingwall has been good so far as the #5 starter, a huge surprise for me.

You didn't even mention Geake and O'Loughlin who went down as well. That's a TON of SP to go down in one sim.

Windy City is the greatest team of all-time. Amazing. I've been hyping them up for weeks now, but nobody else really has a chance. Our "playoff odds" report has them going 128-34.

As for my team, we went 4-3. About the same as every other week. Shawn Gates got injured for two weeks. I'm not happy about that since he was really pitching well before going down. One of the leading candidates for IL New Brew, I'd have to think. We also lost a reliever, giving us 4 injured pitchers. Awesome.
