Clay is right on the timetable. Probably sometime in March. The basics are done but I have some more work before we make it available for everyone.

No hurry. I wasn't trying to push anyone for a release. I was just being an ass toward Clay for being uppity about being able to see it.

For the 2nd time in 2 years Windy City will go from a sub .500 team to a playoff team.

That's as bold as I get for us.

Hell I'll throw in Clarence Wetton for ROTY. Makes it bolder.

The Tobs will hit the ball better than we did last season. We'll pitch much worse and probably miss the playoffs. If Shawn Gates is ready soon, then maybe we'll be ok in pitching.

Syracuse will fail to win 70 games. We will also fail to have a starter with an ERA below 4.

IF Teagan Cannell gets enough ABs in the BLB, he'll be a New Brew candidate.

The Furry Pigs win 90 games, 10 more than last season, but lose the division by 2 games to the Dinos. The primary cause for this travesty will be that I will miss all 5 games against Hyundai in September because my boss will send me on the road. When I return I will punch her in the left tit.

                  Two new ones:

Len John and Gene Sykes, acquired in the Abe trade, will both make it to Pittsburgh this year. (I sure as hell hope so)

Gremades will break Subaru Hiraki's single season hit record of 245

The Bandits should be playing meaningful baseball in September this year. The addition of Brudenell was a huge boost and Fyson is better than anyone who started a game in a Los Alamos uniform last year.

The Truex signing was more of a leap of faith that he will get it together for a decent season, sort of in the spirit of the Arce deal from 2 years ago. Hopefully it turns out better than that. In any case he will represent an additional bat that we lacked last season.

But the biggest "signing" of the offseason is one that cost us nothing: the return of David Tardif. He left a huge hole in the rotation last year and getting him back in the #1 slot will be huge for this team.

Exciting times are here again in Los Alamos!

                      Virginia Colonials (80-82 in '85)

-- Virginia returns to the Stout basement taking a step back in '86 and winning less than 80 games.

-- Virginia did not do enough in the off-season to address voids in the pitching staff and bullpen and will end the season in the bottom two in most pitching categories

-- Virginia will not have a single Rookie that will see significant big league playing time.

-- '86 will be Top 10 prospect Yoritoki Maeda's final season in the minors. After being drafted at 16, the 20 year old will play the entire season at AAA Detroit with an outside shot at a September call-up

-- Make or Break Season for Nate "The Skull" Magness. His numbers were great last year before the injury. Which Magness shows up this year (84 or 85) will likely determine his future - we're predicting another 15+ win season and a sub 3.00 ERA.

-- Jose Llombart and Frank Hamlet both settle into life in Virginia in their first full seasons by hitting 25 HRs each

                      -- Dale O'Hegarty will steal 50 bases
                      The Great One!

Carolina Tobs (90-72 in '85, IL Champions)

-Carolina will make it 9 consecutive seasons above .500, keeping pace with Maine in at least one category. However, it won't be enough to make the playoffs in what will be a much tougher Bock Division. Windy City, Los Alamos and Davenport will all be competitive this year.

                        -Clint Lance won't be missed.

-Frank Esser will be, though he's not worth the money that he got in free agency. We're going to have issues replacing his steady performance as our #3 starter. Ultimately, it will be our inconsistent pitching staff that will sink our playoff hopes, something unheard of in Carolina.

-The offense will be the best its been since the 1981 championship team. Dan Hogan will be out for the first month, but once he's added to the lineup, we have one of the best offenses in the IL.

-Shawn Gates will be in the majors by midseason at the latest and will be a factor in the New Brew voting. He's dominated at A and AA, and I see no reason to expect him to regress this year.

I rarely get to talk up one of my players but Luis Miguel Gutierrez will be up there fighting for New Brew in the DL this year.

                            - Denver Bulls will win at least one more game than they did last year.

                            - Kamau will lead the league in walks.

                            - Seagarra will finally break the 100 RBI mark.

                            - Sanchez will play over 100 games.

                            - Erwood will be an All-Star.

                            - Kip Higgins will continue to defy logic and be the Number One Prospect in the Denver system all year. (Seriously, how?)

                            - Miguel Alonzo is not as bad as he seems, but not as good as his stats last season. He will have an ERA under 5.

We never get too bold in Hartford, but predictions nevertheless...

-Will finish about Pawtucket because they stand to be awful
-Finish with over 80 wins, and probably closer to 85
-Overall Pitching ranking will be Top 5 in the DL
-Schmitz, Burchette, and Castro will have breakout years
-Donegan will go on the Disabled List at least twice
-JJ will meltdown everytime Maine beats Pitt
