    Lighten up.
Sometimes it's hard to lighten up after I day like I had. Sorry if you thought I was being personal.

No, I understand... and I'm not trying to bust your balls either... just... we'd all do just fine if everyone just labored under the impression that 99.999999% of things said here are tongue in cheek.

      It's all good.

Not really. I can't understand a damn thing anyone says when their tongue is in their cheek.

I can only imagine how that would come out if they tried to type it. How the hell is that gonna make anything better??

OK, I'll beat that dead horse...My scout made Uchida EASILY the best pitching prospect in the draft. I really didn't want to take a reliever #1. I need bats. But my scout only identified 3 hitters with a 7 (no 8's) in their Contact or Power potential (in the entire draft pool).

Is development still random? If so, the Potential ratings are essentially meaningless.

          • WAIIIITTTT!! If Andrew or anyone who has access to the utility sees this before the next pick...somehow I picked the wrong guy! This is the same thing that happened to me last year. I was adding some guys to my list, then clicked on the guy I wanted in my list and it chose the wrong guy.

Andrew, I'm going to PM you the guy I wanted...if there's any way to fix it please do. Thanks.

            • Fixed. Can you post the exact steps you took to pick so we can try to track down the error for next season.

              • Thanks. I think it's me being an idiot. I was looking for more people to add to my list and I clicked on a guy and hit 'add to list'. Then I went to the top, clicked on the guy I wanted and hit draft. Instead of drafting the guy I highlighted at the top it took the guy who was checked. I think it's the same thing I did last year (but it was later in the draft so I just kept the guy). So lesson learned...make sure no boxes are checked when I draft.

                Sorry again for that...

Yeah... highlighting the guy at the top doesn't pick him. Checking him picks him. The list at the top is only useful if you're on AUTO.

                  • Pick is in. Not really sure what to think. This game's scouting system confuses the heck out of me. I guess we will all see in a few seasons.

A piece of advice: learn to read between the lines. What Andrew actually wrote was -

Manny wasn't my highest rated reliever but he would have been the first I picked (not counting the ones over the age of 12) just because he's so close to BLB ready (to pitch in the annual wives' slow-pitch soft ball game). Good pick (from the point of view of everyone else in the BLB).

No need to thank me for the advice. You're welcome.

                      • Good movement of the 1st Round guys! FYI - Andrew is out today, but I'm monitoring the draft, so, if PIT and CAR pick, I can push us through the sandwich round if need be.

                        ALSO...

I'm interested in getting back into the early 2nd potentially... you'd have to be willing to take either a volume of mid-round picks, picks next season, or minor leaguers not named Maeda, Rhodes, Herrerra or McQueen.

                        • Meh, had to take a reliever as he was the only guy left that my scout liked. 7-7-5 potential, and the scouting report says he's a future HOF reliever, so I'll take it.

                          • Took Andrew's Sandwich round per his instructions... After the Tobs take theirs, I can move us to the 2nd.

Ahhh, its so clear now. I feel so...enlightened.

And thanks Clay, for keeping us on track while Andrew's out curtain shopping with the wife. Major propers!

                              • I'm curious to what everyone's scout thought of my pick, SP Don Woods?

My scout has him #1 in overall potential, 6-7-7. He also has him #8 on the draft list, the highest rated player left when I picked.

Last year with my first round pick I took 2B Robert Abbott. A lot of people said their scout didn't like him at all. When the first prospect report came out he was ranked I think 98th. Now he is #50.
