  • Let's all just play nice and realize it's a game. I had to talk to a lady today for a long time who's boyfriend shot her mom in the face then shot himself. It turned out to be with a .22 and believe it or not they saved him at the hospital. The bullet went into his chin and lodged in his eye...shaving his whole face off in the process. Had to be one of the nastiest things I have ever seen in my few years on the streets. Now he goes to prison for murder for the rest of his life.
And that brings us to today's lesson "Don't smoke crack"

      Lighten up.
Because it's Clay I'll assume the pun was intended...

      • At 1.16, the Colonials are happy to select Héctor Chávez out of Sugar Land, Texas. Our scouting Department had Chávez as the #1 hitting prospect on the board. We see him as a top shelf hitter with exceptional defensive flexibility and plus, plus speed. The addition of a switch hitting prospect with this type of upside is more than we could have dreamed of picking outside the Top 10 for the first time.

            • I hope so, I had Chavez as a top 10 pick easily.

              • The last two picks didn't really register with my scouts. I still have the best pure reliever on my board available (8-8-7 w 2 endurance). Wish I picked again before the 4th Round. I have 3 guys that I am really high on (Insert "Diesel = High On" joke here) still available.

                • My scout didn't like Chavez as far as ratings went, but the scouting report said he was "not an elite prospect, but close".

                  • Mine had Chavez as a 5-4-4-2. Eh...

                    • We're really happy to pick up Manny Mendez. We didnt feel there was much left on the board, but Manny was someone I was hoping would fall to us.

I dont have the game up, but my scout had him at like 6-7-7 or something and OSA gives him comparable ratings. They list him as a 3 in endurance, but my scout has him rated a 4, so I think we'll try him out in the rotation.

Either way, he's somewhat developed and should start at AAA.

Manny wasn't my highest rated reliever but he would have been the first I picked just because he's so close to BLB ready. Good pick.

                        • Uchida wasn't even in my scouts top 350. It's all a bit crazy, yeah?

Thanks Andrew. I meant to say he was likely to start in AA. I must have been really excited.

Can't you tell when someone is just trying to be nice after a real head scratcher?

What do you mean. Andrew was saying that because he loved the pick. A lot. Probably hoped he would have slipped to him so he could pick him.

                                Right?
