  • OOTP 10

It's that time of year again! Do we have any upgrade plans? The last few have been so smooth and we've had no issues.

OOTP Developments announces Out of the Park Baseball 10
    Preorder period starts today!
We are happy to announce that we are now starting to accept preorders for Out of the Park Baseball 10! From now on, until the game's release in Spring 2009, the price of the game is just $29.99, which is $10 off from the final release price of $39.99. For customers living inside the European Union we charge €29.99, and €39.99 starting release day.

There's some sweet stuff in here including compensation picks, minor league dls, improved injury engine, and something about improved AI evaluation.

    this sounds cool:

We have recoded the entire pitching rating system including adding individual pitch ratings, reworking the endurance/role system and the impact of velocity and groundball percentage in the game engine. This results in the best and most realistic game and player development engine on the planet! Will your veteran ace keep his blazing fastball for another year? Will the youngster develop that promising changeup and become a dominating starter? The new system will change the way you play OOTP!

10 sounds awesome but it also sucks to have to pay to upgrade every other season.

I think the timing will likely mean that we'll roll through '86 before even considering a switch. The COMP picks and Minor League DL are really nice features, but I agree... '85 was pretty smooth... it's hard to think about another move.

I'm going to say wait and see. There's nothing on that list that is "must have" for me and I'm actually pretty happy with how things are running now. Maybe seeing the new features in action during beta will change my mind.

We've barely even played 9. I'm actually kinda tired of "upgrading" every season. Unless there's a real compelling reason to.

We have nice momentum and solid ownership right now (except Pat)... I'd hate to see a switch put that in danger. I think wait and see is definately the way to go.

I agree and to me nothing on that list is compelling. From what I understand OOTP determines the outcomes of an entire at bat... even when using pitch by pitch mode. So basically putting individual pitch ratings will be largely cosmetic.

              If this list said:
              - Fixed CEI's and made it so injuries were 100% customizable using the injuries.txt file
              - Improved the scouting model
              - Improved the financial model

I might be interested in upgrading but to me this feature list is...

That's how I feel. There's some stuff on there that would be nice, but nothing that makes me think that we absolutely need to upgrade. Our league is running fine as it is, though I still hate the new scouting in 9.

Im fine not upgrading, i'd prefer not to til atleast one more season. I wonder if they fixed the bug in the mac version though when the trial version ever expires. I bought it and still have not put in my registration code.

The revised arbitration system sounds cool if it works correctly. However, I agree, doesn't seem like any MUSTS.

It feels like we just upgraded... although a new version might work better for me. Since the last 2 sims everytime I download the new file it crashes my game and will never load up again.

You don't want to change versions. If OOTP 10 doesn't have the Smoke and Mirrors bug, the Mohawks may fall back to Earth.

It feels like we just upgraded because we also had some minor setbacks. Not trying to be critical, but it's true.

I totally understand not wanting to upgrade immediately, but I imagine that a lot of what OOTP 10 is offering will come in handy at some point.

The email feature for online leagues is going to include some nice things that people here would really like.

Why we would we need an email feature? 95% of the league gets here at 8:59 and starts hitting refresh.
