  • SIM COMPLETE - 1985 - Brewmasters

    Next sim: Sunday

We've moved into the off-season so everybody should have their new budgets. Everyone should now be at their correct market size except for Hartford and Los Lunas who will gain another level next season.

I didn't realize that players retired while they still had a contract. That was kind of silly of Stapely to leave $20 million sitting on the table. Poor Linty; he's going to have to worry about finding a catcher now.

Also, were O'Connelan's and Tribe's contracts bad? I seem to recall that they both had good years but I see once a guy retires, he just disappears from the places I know to check.

Wasn't Lanbin going to be a FA?

Never mind, I see. You wrote "some lucky bastard", not "some lucky bastards" - I wonder who that could be.

Wow the Stapley problem fixed itself.

Malachi Stiver voiding his contract is probably a good thing, he wasn't going to get the starting gig next year anyways. I'm pretty surpised he didn't retire.

And here's my problem with that... there won't be anyone near his level of talent in the coaching pool... thus screwing you over.

And I think that should change.

The coaching pool and scouting pool is so thin, aren't coaches / scouts supposed to get better at any point? Most of the guys out there suck.

Yeah, I at least suspect the way managers/coaches/scouts works is kind of a stupid part of this game but I actually have no idea how the manager's and coach's ratings actually effect anything.

I thought we were supposed to be able to hire away other team's personnel by offering a better contract but I don't understand how this works.
