  • 1986 BLB Cards...

This year is going to be fun... I think the '86 cards were some of my favorite of all times. TOPPS were a little lame... but a memorable design:

But FLEER went nuts in '86... I swear they had like 10 different designs. I was 13 in '86 and had my first part-time job... so... I bought a few packs to say the least.

    The standard ones were OK:

But it was all the special ones....

    Loved the LIMITED EDITIONS:

    The Star Stickers:

    Future Hall of Famer cards:

I swear there was at least 10.... these will be fun to replicate.

Are they sure that 'Tony Gwynn' isn't actually Fred McGriff? Cause I've never seen Tony look like that before.

I wonder how many of those Future HOF cards were right on the money.

When Topps, Fleer, and the rest of them decided to make a bazillion designs every year, that made the cards I collected growing up in the 70's a hundred times more valuable (because there WEREN'T a bazillion different designs).

In fact, I'd be able to retire on the sale of my baseball, football and hockey cards if it weren't for one thing...My mother threw them all out one day when I was in college. (Most of them were picked up before the garbage man came around.) She ASSumed I didn't want them anymore.
