  • Playoff Predictions - Wild Card Round

    Matchups:

    DL
    Los Lunas @ Pittsburgh
    Indianapolis @ Maine

    IL
    Carolina @ Wilmington
    Philadelphia @ Washington

    In the DL...
Pittsburgh over Los Lunas, 4-0. Nothing against the Javelinas, but 80-82? That division is sad.

Maine over Indianpolis, 4-1. Good season for the Clowns, but they're another year or two away from being serious contenders in the top heavy DL.

    In the wide open IL...
Wilmington over Carolina, 4-2. I could see myself losing to the Tobs. They have a solid rotation, but I think their bullpen will be key to this series.

Philadelphia over Washington, 4-3. These two teams are about dead even in my eyes. 7 games, either way. Should be a great one.

Pittsburgh over Los Lunas 4-0. Pittsburgh is the best team in the league and Los Lunas probably would of won 70 games in the Stout.

Maine over Indy - 4-2. I don't think Maine is as good as they have been in seasons past, but they are still one of the leagues best.

        --

Wilmington over Carolina, 4-3. The only other time Carolina went to the playoffs, they won it all. Their pitching is really good, but not good enough to cool those bats of Wilmington.

Philly over Washington, 4-3. Should be a great series. Could go either way. I just don't have confidence in this group after being swept in last seasons playoffs.
        Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
        Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

Maine over Indy - 4-1 : I love the Clowns... but I agree that they just don't have the horses yet to contend with Maine.

Los Lunas over Pittsburgh - 4-2 : Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to make this pick. I think Pittsburgh is a great team and SHOULD sweep them. However, every year there seems to be a shocking series in the playoffs... and I'm picking this one since it would be the most shocking.

          ***

Wilmngton over Carolina - 4-2 : Love Carolina's pitching and Nino is a stud.... but I said Wilmington was the best team in the IL before the season started and they only got better during the year.

Washington over Philly - 4-0 : I'm making this pick for one reason and one reason only.... if I pick against Washington and they win... I'll never hear the end of it from Smear. I'm doing this for my own sanity.

              Maine over Indy, 4-1.
Easy the commish will resim until this result is reached. (j/k)
But really, Maine is too awesome.

              Pittsburgh over Los Lunas, 4-0.
Please ignore Clay's earlier prediction. He PM'd me that he took some pills and said the world looked like this...

              Wilmington over Carolina, 4-1.

Wilmington is just plain nasty. Good pitching and too much offense.

              Philly over Washington, 4-2.
As much as it pains me to pick Philly to win anything, Pat(and the rest of the "Crown their Ass" Stout, for that matter) talks too much trash. Go FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!(ugh...what a nasty aftertaste.)

Philadelphia over Washington 3-0, with the Bats forfeiting Game Four after losing the first three by a combined score of 36-2.

a.) I took four of the six we played after the All-Star Break.

b.) Of the four you won before the All-Star Break, zero were games started by pitchers in the Freedom's postseason rotation.

Who won our last game against one another?

                              Oh, ok.
