California fails, what else is new?
After an intense internal review, California Kodiaks owner David Lint has come to the conclusion that he is, in fact, a dumbass. Mr. Lint also claimed that he will no longer trade away his farm system for mediocre ball players. (Well… at least that’s the plan)

Looking at the current Top 100 prospects list, one can see that there are currently four Kodiaks filling out the list.

They are:

SP Victoro Díaz - #37
C Jared Austin - #66
C Malek Garane - #86
2B Jarred Good - #94

What might not have caught most people’s eye is the fact that if <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />California made no trades during the 1985 season, they would currently have nine of the Top 100 prospects which would give them far and away the deepest farm system in the BLB.

They would be:

SP Jud Graham - #9
SP Victoro Díaz - #37
C Manny Cisneros - #44
SS Len John - #49
C Jared Austin - #66
2B Victor Fernández - #85
C Malek Garane - #86
1B Ivan García - #93
2B Jarred Good - #94

Instead, Mr. Lint decided to trade talent after talent away for crazy deals that make California fans hate him more with each passing day.

It’s not easy being a Kodiaks fan. When you look at how bad management has screwed up with the talent, it’s pretty clear to see why.

Mr. Lint did point out that his 1984 draft class is one for the record books as four out of the teams top five picks that year are currently in the Top 100 prospect list.

They are:
SP Victoro Díaz - #37 (4th round)
C Manny Cisneros - #44 (1st round)
1B Ivan García - #93 (4th round)
2B Jarred Good - #94 (2nd round)

He also went on to point out, that of the 18 picks from the 1984 class, 16 posted positive VORP in 1985.

After complaining about the new scouting system that was implemented by the bosses of the BLB, Mr. Lint started to cry.

“We had it down to a science, now we’ll never have it back” said Mr. Lint.

In closing Mr. Lint offered one last comment “When can we start trading again? I’m getting antsy.”
