  • Break out the champagne!

Los Angels, (AP) - With the recent winning ways of the Mississippi Storm, it was announced today that the 1981 California Wildfire will continue to hold the distinction as the BLB's worst ever team!

SP Tajo Delclos, who was a member of the 1981 squad recently commented on the continuation of the BLB's worst team moniker for the the '81 Wildfire.

'It feels great to be honest. At the time it sucked, sure, but now looking back, no one will be able to take that away from us; we were, are, and forever will be the worst team to ever take the diamond. It's quite the accomplishment.'

To celebrate the 'worst team ever' the Kodiaks are planning a special 'loser' theme night when the team returns home from inter-league play against Hyundai and Los Lunas.

While officials have been mum on what the team plans to do for the fans, one official who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity said that whatever happens, the stadium will be filled with losers one way or the other.

This year Virginia is finally starting to pull away and cement my spot as 2nd worst franchise of all time... California is getting smaller in my rearview mirror.... and I can see Hartford's tail lights up ahead.

I think Tajo enjoys Pittsburgh more.

Wait wait...for a team with an "extremely small" market size for much of our existence, we aren't in this discussion.

                      4 seasons above .500
Finished 2nd in the division twice
                      Overall record: 563-571
                      Payroll: <$55m

Surely we aren't the 3rd worst team in this league, unless somehow you think a 470-664 record is close.... Those red lights you see are probably the glow from some cheap strip club up ahead in some backass area of Richmond

Gotta agree with the Whale on this one. His team has never been in contention since league inception, but they are basically a .500 team every season.

Here is my bottom four (excluding expansions teams):
                        1. California
                        2. Virginia
                        3. Pawtucket
                        4. Syracuse
                        Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
                        Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

Take away '83, '84, and '85 and I'd be running neck and neck with the Wildiaks.

It was my bad... I meant Pawtucket... but I was humming that Hartford/Batavia song and got confused.
