    6. CONTRACTS
    • A Team Option must contain a minimum buyout equal to:
      • (A) The difference between the highest guaranteed year salary and the amount of the team option (provided the option year $$ > the highest guaranteed year $$),
      • (B) 10% of the amount of the team option,
      • Whichever amount is greater.
    • Vesting option years are not allowed
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.
    • For each contract year, the $$ value of an individual season must be at least 50% of the highest guaranteed season value

PSA. Please monitor your roster limits and DFA during the off-season. The off-season is run just like the regular season reference minor league systems.

Currently we have four teams over the minor league roster limit total of 113.

    Seattle - 119
    Miami - 119
    Wilmington - 117
    Washington - 114

We also have several teams with minor league DFA'd players where they are at or above the 113 limit. I understand this is the first FA signing so we'll allow another SIM to get players in the right place and be at the limit or below.

    Seattle - 21
    Phoenix - 5
    New York - 4
    Washington - 3
    Wilmington - 2

    Thank you!

I got my top target in Oscar D'Addona to be the new starting SS in Washington, so that's the big news for my team. I debated whether to offer, but I'm happy to get him and it should be a big defensive upgrade for the Bats. He'll take over SS with his 80 defense, Franklin can move to 2B and Babbage can go back to the OF, all significant improvements defensively according to the ratings.

It'll be a juggling act to get everyone enough starts, but I think it will all work out.

        Thanks Matt!

Seattle scoops up two pitchers at a high price tag and a former Pilot catcher.

Demetrius Insua is a Dominican import who will cost $26M for the next three seasons and then player options at $20 for 2041 and 2042. I wasn't overwhelmed by him when the FA started but the more I looked the more I thought he had a good chance to be the best SP in the class. He's already 32 but we have seen IFA imports last a long time. It's a risk, especially at this price, but I think when the season starts he will be a Top 20 pitcher and immediately becomes the #1 pitcher on the staff. We obviously overpaid but I had been on the wrong side of every big name IFA since 2029 when we signed Pang Shuai.

We also signed RP Ed "Superman" Tesluk after his down year in California. My scout and OSA think he still rates as one of the best RP in the BLB but I am a bit nervous about a potential ratings hit come January. I went higher than a lot of GMs because I wanted to avoid a bidding war. I think we have arguably the best bullpen in the BLB with his addition. Four of the RPs on the BLB roster expect to close, so this could get interesting...

And we brought back catcher Tristan Logan. He's been on a steady decline in numbers every year he has been in the BLB but will only be 30 in March. I'm hoping he can bounce back in a RH friendly park and provide great defense. He will compete for reps in ST but he's a lock to at least platoon.

Besides that, signed a few ST hopefuls to MLC's with BLB options: CF Pat Welch, CF Elisah Ziegler, IFA OF Kajon Sotelo, RF Ron Bir and C Pat Bingham. The CFs will all compete in ST for platoon reps with incumbent Riley Thomas.

Denver boosted the bullpen with the acquisitions of Tom Kastner and Josh Robinson. They'll join Nicoli Porcaro to lock down close games we have lost the past couple seasons.

And we added SS St. Nicklaus Palomino to a short deal. He will start as a center fielder in AAA. Let's see how far his defensive talent goes. Otherwise, Muniz might need to watch out.

We missed out on the few players we targeted, but inked Ramos to an 8 year deal, that, at least now, seems reasonable...
