    6. CONTRACTS
    • A Team Option must contain a minimum buyout equal to:
      • (A) The difference between the highest guaranteed year salary and the amount of the team option (provided the option year $$ > the highest guaranteed year $$),
      • (B) 10% of the amount of the team option,
      • Whichever amount is greater.
    • Vesting option years are not allowed
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.
    • For each contract year, the $$ value of an individual season must be at least 50% of the highest guaranteed season value

Thanks Matt! Norm Cupp, who has not shown his regular power, saves our week in the bottom of the ninth, the last game!

OK sim for us- got a bad injury to Colin Bailey which will knock him out for a few weeks. Schultz isn't cutting it in my rotation- will need to shore up that part of the rotation.

Early season surprises for me include:
Zack Coffey has been unhittable this season, he and Garibaldi have formed a nasty 8th-9th inning punch
Bert Garza has been such a welcome addition to our team
Ezekiel Redford is of to a hot start
Lou Latourneau is pitching lights out so far this year
Dave Short has regained some of his early career form

I get Dave Davis off of the IL this sim. Tom Martin will slide back to 2B.

Will see how this team plays the next month- if we continue playing good ball, this team may be legit

4-3 week, so not bad. We're still tied for first place, though percentage points behind since I've played 2 more games than NY so far. We've only had one off day since the season began, and have a full week of games before our next one.

Positives for this team continue to be our pitching, particularly the bullpen. So far, we haven't missed Reggie Chao, but it's still early and at some point we may need that kind of lefty arm. We've also been pretty good at fielding and very good at running the bases. So far, those things have added up enough to win games despite an anemic offense. Our hitters really need to get going, but having Zuniga pick up a DTD injury that's going to last 3 weeks isn't helpful.
