    6. CONTRACTS
    • A Team Option must contain a minimum buyout equal to:
      • (A) The difference between the highest guaranteed year salary and the amount of the team option (provided the option year $$ > the highest guaranteed year $$),
      • (B) 10% of the amount of the team option,
      • Whichever amount is greater.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.
    • For each contract year, the $$ value of an individual season must be at least 50% of the highest guaranteed season value

This off-season is shaping up just like last years. A huuuge bust.

Another big signing for Washington, this time SP Ian Ammons. We really needed to add a top SP this offseason and Ammons was my top target. He'll immediately slot in as my #1 in the rotation and hopefully can produce in a similar way that he did in Hartford.

I also added SP Emmit Woodford. I'd say I'm happy with that, but he the immediately suffered a setback and is out for 8 months, when he was supposed to be healthy by Spring Training. So, that's just a waste of money, though thankfully he't not really expensive. But it's back to the drawing board to fill the rotation with him no longer available.

I got a third signing with Joy-shan Guo. Maybe an overpay? But again, not a ton of money. He was a bust in Batavia, but my scout and OSA are still high on his hitting ability and he's got a Captain personality type, which I just lost when Arballo walked in free agency. I'm hoping he can improve my DH/1B position and be a positive to our clubhouse.

I'm bummed about Woodford, but this offseason has gone well. I landed by top RP target last sim, my top SP this one. Hopefully Zuniga is the real deal or Guo can give me a bounce back year.

Another boring offseason sim in California! We did get some exciting minor league bumps on some of our better prospects, which is always nice at the turn of the new year.

With no money left, we are down to trying to trade for any pieces to round out our roster. Hopefully we get something done in the next sim or two!
