Horrendous sim, but I locked up Alsina for five years. It's a lot of money but I think he'll earn it.Maine Guides

My fan interest jumped from a 72 to an 86 with the extension. So far so good.Maine Guides

Well, 2-4 sim with 1-2 against Pitt and Syracuse. Not good, but I'll take it.
I have two starters knocking on the door in AAA and I have to call them up at some time considering how crappy the back-end of my rotation is doing now. I'm going to give them a couple more sims to develop in the minors.

Very happy with the performance of my team, and Kevin Stoltzfus, during Gorrie's absence. The starting pitching is getting better, McEvoy has been everything we'd hoped he would be. Gorrie's finally back, so I expect the offense to improve. Washington and I have been even for like 4 straight sims.

5-1, with a sweep @ Philadelphia and taking 2/3 from Virginia at home. Good sim for us, we needed that after last week's terrible sim. We pulled 3 games out in our last at-bat, including 2 walk-off HRs against Virginia, the second one being Jose Juanpere's first career HR when he was in for Will Porter.
Joe Ponte picked up his 10th win of the season and dropped his ERA to under 2 heading into the Break. Big comeback year for him. Offensively, we go as Vincent Nino goes. He hits well and we win. Last week he struggled and we go 1-5. He just carries our offense.
All-Star Frank Esser pitched a 10-inning complete game against Virginia as well.Last edited by liquidcrash; 12-18-2008, 10:57 PM.Washington Bats, 2013-

They call me MISTER .500
Another 3 - 3 sim. This ball club wreaks of mediocrity. Time to shake things up a bit. I have some surplus bullpen talent that's available in exchange for an "above average" bat (something like .270 avg, and maybe capable of 20 HR's per year).

3-3 sim.
Should have gone 4-2... or at least had the shot at it.. but of course the AI screws me over... Top 10, 0-0. Man on 1st and 3rd, one out. Number 7 hitter, my catcher up. What does he do?
He sac bunts the ball to the first basemen and the guy on third stays put... next hitter, my 8 hitter, pops up and half inning over.
My manager sure is smart, huh?California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

Washington Bats (47-35)
4-2 sim. 1-2 vs. Windy City. 3-0 vs Batavia. After the Windy City dismantling I expected to win that series, but you really can not complain about going 4-2.
The Good
-Joe Chavarraga is still going strong. He pitched a complete game shutout of the Muckdogs this week. Striking out seven while giving up five hits and two walks.
-Abran Lanbin had another solid week. In eight games with the Bats, he is hitting .346 with a .909 OPS.
The Bad
-In July, Miguel Angel Padilla is hitting 2/22. Come on, rook!
The Ugly
-My team has a .640 winning percentage at home. They are winning at a .469 clip on the road. The problem is, I have already played 50 games at home, to just 32 on the road. Yikes.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Harcourt destroyed us. I'm surprised we pulled out 2 of 3 against VA, although without late errors in Game 1 we could've had a chance to win all three, but I'll take the 4-2 sim.
Good:
Looks like the bats may be waking up a bit as we hit .333 against VA and Wilmington. I was particularly impressed by the play of emerging infielder, Curt Boyd who hit 9/20 with 3 doubles, and 2 HR(not a power hitter) and would've likely been POW if it wasn't for that pesky VA infielder.
Bad:
For the 2nd year in row, Joe Discur is hitting below .200 after getting a great starting chance. He's done in Baltimore, if anyone wants to take a chance, he's going on waivers for cheap.
Ugly:
Young pitcher Seth Nelson annoys me to no end. He'll be amazing sometimes(see 6/10/85, 2-hit shutout or 6/16/85, 8 innings, 1 ER, 5 hits) or like this week where he gets demolished. Amazingly inconsistent.
We have a 6 game lead over Philly and the league's 3rd best record going into the break which is good. However, we were leading going into the break last year and obviously that meant absolutely nothing.

On another note, I just noticed that my scouting staff had a huge potential ratings assessment for 18 year old SP, Panamanian, Juan Jose Garcia. He got a +2/+3/+4 ratings bump in the last report I got. Hellz yea. Also newly signed closer, Al Fleming might already be ready for AA according to the scouting staff.

I'm guessing that having players voted to the All-Star game increases fan interest?

That couldn't have been it, since that happens all the time.
