Damn. Washington with four All-Stars? Was not expecting that.

The only guy who was pretty iffy was Nago, I thought, and he got voted in. I'm not sure if it is that some voters don't look past BA or it is the DL casting votes with the idea of improving their chance of winning the game.

There were a lot of pitchers with good numbers, who could have been chosen instead of O'Rogan but it would be hard to argue that he didn't deserve serious consideration.

Well, I have to say... I did not expect Four All-Stars in Virginia this year... let alone having a 1st half where you could certainly make a case for a 5th (Carlton).

Wilton Harcourt was certainly no shock...

Danny Nelson was a very pleasent surprise. Sure, he benefitted greatly from the John Gorrie injury, but his numbers are at least deserving. He had a slow start, but has been very good.

Nate "The Skull" Magness... for all of the yakin' I do about him... and as much as I expected him to take a step this season, I'm blown away with his numbers so far. I still don't think he's hit his ceiling either.

Poling lead the IL in batting for most of the first two months before cooling slightly in June. He's a good player and easily the best trade I've ever made. With Nino still young and Grandon locked up for many years, Poling has to take the ASG's where he can. Although, there is a good chance that he's a 1B some day (when Maeda is ready)... so he can fight Dani Alvarez for the honor.
