You know, you almost had me for a second. I was believing everything you said right up until this..."and I'm still trying to work my way out of it".

    I don't see it.

How do you expect to develop talent, which is a must for a rebuilding team, when your minors are incomplete? I'm sorry, but that's absurd.

There have been plenty of young, solid players to come across the waiver wire this season. Some, I've acquired, while some, I've placed there. How many did you acquire, or even take a look at?

You bitch and moan about the state of your team, yet your minors are incomplete, you're developing nothing, and you have several players playing out of position. How could you seriously expect improvement under those conditions? It only takes 10 minutes to browse your linupes, and the waiver wire.

I know I'm being tough on you, and you probably think I'm an ass, but this has gone on long enough. Your team is stuck in a horrific state because of your level of participation, not because of the dispersal draft.
I guess it's warranted, but I just don't know what else I'm expected to do. Having a complete AA team isn't going to help Mark Steward turn into the beast that he will be.
I'm sorry, but the replies you're feeding us are absolute bullshit. Look at the list rubisco just posted about your minors. Do you care to address that?

      Nope. Nope. Nope.

The talent in your major league club probably won't get you 90 wins. But playing every player correctly might've prevented 100+ losses.

You know what? Players decline contract offers. It happens. Go out and get other players. Make trades. (I'm sure this is the point you're going to respond to).

You expect to have 60+ rated players at every position at every level? In my minor leagues, I have exactly ZERO players rated (either currently or potential) with a rating above 50. I have 4 players between 40 and 50. 4 players... that's it. out of 75 minor leaguers, I have 4. most of my players are in the 20's. that's just the way it works. you develop a handful of decent players, but you don't kill them by never giving them a day off. you don't kill them by playing them out of position.

Are you listening to yourself? You don't know that you're supposed to have more than 5 pitchers on a roster, or more than the absolute minimum amount of position players? There's a starting point, if you're looking for "what you're expected to do." As others have said, you're going to severely retard your players' development, injure your pitchers' arms, or maybe even just kill your players outright from overworking them.

It takes five seconds to click on each of the "ask manager for" buttons and signing FAs is an incredibly easy process too. We're not asking for the world here, but an absolute minimal amount of effort would be appreciated.

And it's not like a 20's player won't perform. Take for example this AA pitcher

          http://ootp.oldredboat.com/news/html...ayer_2357.html

My scouts have him rated as 33 current / 35 potential.

But his record in AA this past season?

15-10, 3.14 ERA. Is he rated highly? Nope. he's not even on MY list of top prospects. But he's still worth keeping around b/c of his performance.

I've got a few guys that just eat up innings in my minors. It's worth having them around just to make sure your better prospects are pitching on full rest.

Why don't you start with the Major League team and go from there. You have an outfielder playing infield and an infielder playing outfield. Between those two guys, you have 93 of your teams 172 errors.

Your team has 142 unearned runs, I'd estimate at least half of which could have been prevented by playing guys in the right position. It wouldn't turn you into a playoff team, but I don't think its a stretch to say they cost you about 10 wins over the course of the year.

This is significant because losing affects your fan interest, market size, etc. By not caring now, you're significantly hurting your chances of competing in the future.

                  Regarding the whole JJ thing:

This league is a bit more in-depth than I originally thought and I can see where it can quickly become overwhelming to the unitiated.

Browbeating JJ isn't really going to help motivate him to invest more time and thought into his team and thus improve the league. And I'm sure that's not anyone's intention, but after re-reading this, I don't think the way our suggestions were couched is the best way to go about it.

I just don't want another player to leave the league.

JJ, I'm in the same boat as you with a crappy minor league system and years of maneuvering before I can really compete for a championship. I'm SO TOTALLY NOT the guy with the answers (obviously) but if you want to bounce ideas or get suggestions, just PM me. I'm sure many of the other players would be happy to help to!

Sounds like I need to be discussing trades for some of your vets. And JJs.

Good luck finding "Veterans" on my team. I don't think I have anyone over the age of 28 in my organization (not including total scrubs).

Under normal cirumstances, Wessinmouse, I would agree with this. However, when you have an OF playing IF, and a IF playing OF on your big league roster, I don't see how anyone can make the claim they are trying. If you look at his interleague depth chart, these two players are playing their correct positions. It takes but one minute to make this change, and he's failed to do so.

To avoid piling this all on JJ, there's some other teams that have had some similar apathy in regards to their team.

California had a C and a 1B combine for 38 errors in 94 games at SS.

Syracuse had an OF and 2B combine for 45 errors in 59 games at 3B.

Bottom line, get your act together or you will be replaced. I have no patience for people who don't want to be here. I'd rather have the CPU run your teams if you're too lazy to even fill out a proper lineup.

Yeah, Crystal Meth and Baseball Sims are a bad combination.

                              (I am SO TOTALLY joking)

Rosters need to be set back to 25 players by Thursday's sim. That means you need to do it in one of your next two exports. Don't leave this up to me, as I'm just going to take whatever random players and send them down, which could waste some option years you don't want to waste.
                                Gonna be giving updates?
