Well... That kinda sucked... We were a long shot to get in as a Wild Card, but four games in Washington sealed our fate...

Game 1 We blow a lead in the 8th and the 13th inning to lose... 4-3
Game 2 We lead off the ninth with a home run then go 3 up and 3 down to lose... 4-3
Game 3 Down 2-1 in the 7th of another close game, the bullpen implodes, and we lose... 6-1
Game 4 We blow a lead in the 7th and the 9th inning to lose... 8-7

      Oh... What might have been.

We then bounced back and took 2 of 3 in Seattle!

2-5 home stand for the Pilots against New York and California. Probably our worst sim of the season and we have now relinquished home field advantage to Washington. Great showing in front of the home fans after adding 14 players to the active roster...

The issue we are running into in recent weeks is lack of SP depth. Besides Jacob Stokes, Manabu Hamada and Dusty Borchers, we can't get much consistency no matter who we throw for the other 2-3 starts. That includes top 20 SP Joey Seymour. This week we will give a look to veteran journeyman SP CJ Wells, with rookie P Danny Ley and veteran P Zhi-huan Bao.

Down in the minors, the Seattle affiliates lost the Double-A Championship but won the Single-A. This is the 2nd title for the Cienfuegos Palmettos (A) and their first since 2023.

In the wild adventures of how in the hell?

That 24-year-old OF Tyrese Coleman continues to rake since we made him a full-time starter in August.
          His August and September splits:
          .320 .378 .573 .951
          .348 .348 .739 1.087
I don't usually take September splits too seriously because there are a lot more AAA pitchers in the league but hoping it adds to his confidence going into 2035.

Rod Mason also had another solid week with 2 homers and 6 RBI. He's been putting up good numbers since July. I can live with these numbers if it becomes the norm over a full-season.
          284 .356 .481 .837
          271 .333 .490 .823
          .259 .286 .519 .804

Both Coleman and Mason could potentially be 30 HR guys at their pace.

I'm going to close this out with one guy that does not stop. Injuries have wrecked Healey's thirties and it might have him come up short of 3,000 hits, but in many ways he has not slowed down.
Healey has played all season, mostly at 3B, and he's a 2.9 WAR player at 38-years-of-age. He's top five in OBP in the IL. And he's also hitting .310 which places him sixth in the league.

The old man still has it.

5-2 for the Bats. As mentioned by Paul, we swept a 4-game series against the Kodiaks, but dropped 2 of 3 in Batavia. So, we remain 3 games up in the Stout division, despite now holding the best record in the BLB. We went 4-0 in 1-run games this week, and we've been really good in those over the past couple of months. I think for the first time all season, my actual record is better than our Pyt. Record, so we'll see if this team can keep up the good luck.

The two new rookies didn't see a lot of action this week. Pat Graves went 1/3 with a walk at the plate in his lone appearance. Reggie Chao pitched in 2 games, giving up 1 hit over 1.2 innings, but that one hit was a homer. I don't expect them to feature much, but it'd be nice for them to give us a boost. I'm counting on Chao to be a big piece of this bullpen next season.

Coming up, we've got 3 @ Baltimore in a huge series, then home for 3 against the Knights. We'll need to keep winning to avoid the wildcard round. We should clinch our playoff spot in this next sim regardless.
