Why is Lang so bad?

His peripherals are good...72 hits in 85 innings, 93 K's to only 29 walks, 9 HR allowed isn't too bad either. Is he just unlucky or is he pulling a LaRochelle?

The payroll will also likely be why this will be my last year to contend for a title. Coker wants a 5/90 extension, MacKnight wants something similar, and I just won't be able to retain them for that price. I'll likely put up a Windy City-esque rebuilding effort and ship out everyone but Gremades, Buzzell, Haydon, and Simmonds.

Getting Joe Moran has been huge for my team so far. For the first time in franchise history, I feel comfortable going to the 9th with a lead. The starters are generally pitching well except Mr. Smug Don Stevens. We finished 15-12 in June, which is admirable. After a miserable April, the team is playing much better.

woo hoo... another winning sim. Keppel is the player of the week, and Wallace continues to win. On another note, players are still available for trade to the contenders.

Not a bad sim; my opponents scored the same number of runs that I did but I used my runs more efficiently, which was good for 5-1. In the first two games against Batavia, I won a pair of 3-2 decisions with Llombart driving in all 6 of my runs.

With Carolina losing 5 of 6, I gained 4 games. Maybe I ought to buy at the deadline. With Virginia already 2 games back and two teams ahead of them, they're out of it, so they'll be selling and there must be a few other teams with veterans to trade as well.

Good:
Starting Pitching: Six for six in quality starts this week. Can't really ask for more than that.

Mark Steward: Five homeruns and 12 RBI's with an OPS of 1.181. Two of his HR's were clutch. First against Grant Lewis to tie it up in the top of the ninth against Washington, and his second clutch homer was a three run bomb in the top of the 10th against Morgantown to give us the series sweep.

Bad:
Catchers continue to struggle... For the year, my three catchers have combined to post a line of, .170/4/29. That's three guys. If I had any production out of that spot at all... I think I would have won a couple more games than I have.

Ugly:
Steward's contract demands raise every sim... at first he wanted 3 million a year. Every sim since, it's gone up. Currently it's at 8.2 million a year and climbing. I hope to sign him soon or I'm expecting 15 million a year if he keeps his production up.
